Lady Farmers potent in victories By JEFF LAMPE For The Weekly Post FARMINGTON – The Farmington softball team has put up some impressive run totals in its three wins so far this wet, cold spring. In three wins, the Lady Farmers (3-1) have outscored foes 40-6. That includes Tuesday’s 11-3 home victory over Deer Creek-Mackinaw. Reece Putrich drove in four runs on three hits for Farmington, including a solo home run in the first inning. She also had a double. Brimfield OKs $13,000 repair of park pavilion
By LORI HEROLD For The Weekly Post BRIMFIELD – The Brimfield Village Board on Monday approved a $13,000 bid for extensive repair on the pavilion at the village park. A bid of $13,000 was awarded to Kirk Lewis to do repairs. Board President Dan Fishel said there hasn’t been any work done on the pavilion in years and these repairs should help it last for a long time. The board also heard an update from Village Clerk Holly Johnson regarding ARPA (American Rescue Plan Funds). She said the village has until December of 2024 to obligate the fund and it will…
Princeville students sing backup for Beatles tribute
By CHLOE BLUNIER For The Prince PRINCEVILLE – A small group of Princeville students have been given the opportunity to sing backup for a series of Beatles celebration concerts. Called the Yoko Ono Choir, the group, led by Chris Delbridge, included Princeville students Natalie Bashusen, Chloe Blunier, Brianna Olshawsky, Sophie Noonen and Leah Wieland, Princeville alum Alex Lopez, Midland student Maddy Colby and community member Hillary Hartley. Other performers were a group of local musicians, including Cherry Whittaker, Jimmy Willis and Mathew Curry. The group was led by Craig Moore. Harper, 58, of Edwards died in a two-vehicle collision Friday, April 1, in the 5600 block of Southport Rd. at approximately 8:44 p.m. According to Peoria County Sheriff’s Captain Chris Watkins, Harper, of Powder Mill Road, was the lone occupant of a sedan driving westbound on Southport Road.
