Scuffle leaves Brimfield man, officer with injuries
BRIMFIELD – Four people wound up with injuries on June 29 stemming from an incident at a Brimfield residence, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s report.
Police were called to the scene and were signalled to go inside by a man outside of the residence. While entering, an officer saw Sean A. Eeten, 45, exiting the residence.
When the officer attempted to engage with Eeten, Eeten walked away and tried to enter a vehicle, even though he was warned repeatedly that he would be arrested if he did so. As the officer took him into custody, Eeten resisted. The ensuing tussle resulted in the officer suffering several abrasions and Eeten suffering an injury to his face.
Once Eeten was secured, officers spoke to a man who claimed Eeten kicked in the door to the residence and attacked him. A woman there said Eeten, “punched her in the face, stuck his hand into her mouth with a lit cigarette in his hand attempting to burn her, choked her to the point she was unable to breathe, slammed her onto the ground, kicked her in the legs, back, stomach and head.”
Both victims claimed their phones were taken away by Eeten when they tried to call 911. They also said Eeten wouldn’t let them leave the house. According to the sheriff’s report, injuries were commensurate with what police were told. Another witness at the scene also corroborated both their stories.
Eeten refused medical attention on the scene. The responding officer transported him to Methodist Hospital for the injury to his face. Eeten was uncooperative both in the squad car and at the hospital where he insulted the Methodist staff, according to the report.
As a result, he was released by the hospital and taken to Peoria County Jail where he was charged with home invasion/injury to a person, two counts of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery to a peace officer, three counts of unlawful restraint, interference with a report of domestic battery and resisting/obstructing an officer, according to the sheriff’s report.
Elmwood man charged with aggravated assault
ELMWOOD – A woman who claimed she was in fear for her life managed to dial 911 before Zachary A. Nichols, 32, of Elmwood smashed her phone on July 23, according to an Elmwood police report.
When police arrived at the scene, Nichols told them he was laying on the couch when the woman who called police “started yelling at him.” He said a shoving match took place and he didn’t remember anything after that.
The woman claimed an upset Nichols emptied her purse, threw her around and slammed her head against the wall “several times.” She told police that after Nichols grabbed and shot off a firearm, she ran into the bedroom.
Evidence at the scene included a spent 9mm shell casing and a smashed phone, which corroborated the charges, as did physical injuries to the woman. Nichols was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated discharge of a firearm in an occupied building, domestic battery, unlawful carrying/possession of a firearm, criminal damage to property $500-$10,000 and interference with emergency communication.
Elmwood and Farmington police departments were involved in the investigation and arrest along with the Peoria County Sheriff’s Department.

• DAHINDA – Billy J. Byrd, 33, of Dahinda was charged with a violation of order of protection on July 19 and for failure to appear in court on July 20, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s report.
• PRINCEVILLE – Mathew A. Reatherford, 27, of Princeville was charged on July 16 with domestic battery, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s report.
• ELMWOOD – Christopher G. Berryman, 38, of Elmwood was charged on July 15 with aggravated DUI, driving without a valid driver’s license, uninsured motor vehicle/bodily harm, and improper traffic lane usage, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s report.
• FARMINGTON – Stephanie A. Parrish, 35, of Farmington was charged on July 25 with failure to appear in court, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s report.
• BRIMFIELD – Leeanna Rose Kallenborn, 61, of Brimfield was charged on July 23 with DUI, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s report.
• FARMINGTON – Christopher Morse, 32, of Farmington was charged on July 23 with driving while license revoked, according to a Farmington police report.
• FARMINGTON – Scott Patterson, 45, of Farmington posted bond on July 23 for a Fulton County warrant, according to a Farmington police report.
• FARMINGTON – A traffic stop for speeding resulted in charges for two on July 24, according to a Farmington police report. Driver, Austin Schuch, 18, of Peoria was charged with speeding, possession of tobacco by a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Ethan Jackson, 19, of Peoria was charged with possession of adult use cannabis in a vehicle by a passenger and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• FARMINGTON – Alexis Sandoval, 18, of Farmington was charged on July 26 for violation of an order of protection, aggravated battery of a peace officer, two counts of aggravated assault of a peace officer, and obstructing/resisting a peace officer. She was transported to Fulton County Jail.
