arrested for DUI
HANNA CITY – A Hanna City man was accused of aggravated drunken driving after he was found asleep in his truck at a rural intersection. Cort A. Dixon, 28, was arrested after he was transported to a Peoria hospital following the incident at about 12:05 a.m. June 26 at Pinkerton and Murphy roads.
A passerby told a Peoria County Sheriff’s deputy he saw Dixon sleeping in the front seat of a 2011 Ford F250. Dixon told the deputy he thought it was 9:30 p.m. June 25 and he was in Bartonville. Dixon said he had two beers with lunch about noon but otherwise had not been drinking.
The deputy noted Dixon smelled of alcohol and had glassy, red eyes, slurred speech and trouble balancing. Dixon was found to have two prior drunken-driving convictions, hence the aggravated DUI charge.
After Dixon was released from OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, he was arrested, transported to the Peoria County Jail. and cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

• KICKAPOO – Someone driving a red Chevrolet Silverado left the Shell Station at 7200 N. Kickapoo-Edwards Rd without paying, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. The incident happened about 12:45 p.m. June 19. According to a store employee, the alleged thief pumped $52.62 in gas.
• HANNA CITY – Haley J. Barrick was southbound in a 2010 Ford Explorer on Hanna City-Glasford Road near Behrends Road about 2:30 a.m. June 16 when the vehicle entered a ditch, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver’s mother told a deputy she believed Barrick fell asleep on her way home from work. The accident took place during heavy rain.
The vehicle sustained a dented license plate. Barrick was transported to OSF Saint Francis for treatment.
• KICKAPOO – About 5 p.m. May 19, a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Charmin A. Leas of Wyoming killed a deer on Princeville-Jubilee Road near Robins Nest Lane, according to the sheriff’s office. Leas was southbound. The vehicle sustained front passenger-side damage.
• FARMINGTON – Jessaca M. Williamson, 24, of Farmington was arrested about 9:45 a.m. June 16 on a Fulton County warrant for failure to appear in court, according to the Farmington Police Department. After Williamson paid $180 in bond and bonding fees, she was assigned a new court date and released.
• EDWARDS – Jeremy M. Schleueter, 18, of Edwards was arrested about 1:10 a.m. June 26 and accused of battery/bodily harm, according to the sheriff’s office.
• TRIVOLI – Danielle M. Gershak, 36, of Trivoli was arrested about 3 p.m. June 23 and accused of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
