• PRINCEVILLE – A man was transported to a Peoria hospital following a two-vehicle accident south of Princeville.
About 8:30 a.m. May 3, Chance W. Pulley of Princeville was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu south on Princeville-Jubilee Road at Legion Hall Road when it rear-ended a stopped 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. Its driver was Stephanie N. Murphy of Princeville, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Pulley said a deer distracted him and he didn’t see Murphy’s vehicle had stopped. His vehicle was traveling between 55 and 60 mph. Murphy said she was stopped behind a vehicle that was making a left turn.
An ambulance carried Pulley, who complained of ankle pain, to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Murphy reported no injuries. The Malibu sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed, as was the Tahoe, according to the report.
Pulley was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
• ELMWOOD – No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident in an Elmwood parking lot.
About 6:15 p.m. May 12, William Landon of Trivoli backed a Toyota FJ Cruiser into a Toyota Corolla parked outside an apartment building at 304 S. Knox St., according to the Elmwood Police Department. The Corolla belonged to Debra Forrester of Elmwood. Both vehicles sustained bumper damage.
• ELMWOOD – A firewood rack in front of an Elmwood convenience store was damaged after a woman drove into it, according to authorities.
The incident happened about 10 p.m. May 2 at Casey’s, 811 W. Main St. According to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, Allyssa R. Cole of Elmwood was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado that didn’t stop in the parking lot after she applied the brakes. The impact bent a pole on the firewood rack.
No injuries were reported, and the vehicle sustained minimal damage.
• HANNA CITY – Shortly before 6 a.m. May 3, Robert W. Harris of Peoria was driving a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria east on Smithville Road at Hanna City-Glasford Road when the vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
• TRIVOLI – At 10:30 a.m. April 29, Alejandro D. Romero of Hanna City was driving a 2021 Hyundai Sonata north on Trivoli Road at Higgs Road when the vehicle struck a deer. The vehicle then left the pavement to the east and struck a road sign, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. No injuries were reported, but damage of more than $1,500 was.
