2-3-20 – Galva police dispatched to the 00 block of NW 5th St. to check on a child who left the school without permission. The child was located and returned to the school.
2-4-20 – Galva police noticed that all of the railroad crossing arms were activated, but no trains were visible. Police directed traffic on Exchange St. until the gates went back up.
2-4-20 – Galva police assisted a Henry County deputy with a traffic stop on Route 34 near Midland Road involving a reported “rolling domestic dispute.”
2-5-20 – Galva police were notified by a resident that the resident’s dog ran away from the 00 block of NE 3rd St. The dog was located a short time later and returned home.
2-5-20 – Galva police, along with the Galva Fire Department and Stark County Ambulance, were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident in the 1300 block of SE 2nd St. A driver had fallen asleep and lost control of their vehicle. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle had to be towed due to damage.
2-6-20 – Galva police were dispatched to Route 34 west of town for a traffic complaint involving a vehicle driving down the roadway on its rims. Police located the vehicle and as a result, Hector Lozano, 19, Kewanee, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of ammunition without a FOID card. He was transported to the Galva Police Department for processing and released with a notice to appear in court.
2-6-20 – Galva police were notified about four goats that were running in a field east of the Galva Park District. Police found the animal owner in the 600 block of SE 8th Ave. The goats were returned home.
2-6-20 – Galva police met with a resident at the Galva Police Department to take a report involving a wallet that was stolen about two weeks ago.
2-7-20 – Galva police were advised of a dog bite that occurred in the 300 block of SW 4th St. This incident is still pending.
2-7-20 – Galva police went to a residence in the 100 block of NE 4th St. to attempt to locate someone who had an outstanding warrant. As a result, Stacie Williams, 34, Galva, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear for the charge of driving while license suspended. She was unable to post bond and was transported to the Henry County jail.
2-8-20 – Galva police were notified that all of the railroad crossings were blocked by a stopped train. BNSF Railroad was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
2-8-20 – Galva police were dispatched to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave. for a subject lighting small fires and putting them out with their hands.
2-9-20 – Galva police dispatched to the 300 block of Front St. for a fight involving four to five subjects. The incident is still under investigation.

Incidents &
Accidents

2-5-20 – A single-vehicle accident occurred on Route 17 and Clinton Street, in Toulon. The driver involved was identified as Haley Jo Kitterman, 32, of Toulon. Her vehicle reportedly slid off the road and hit a tree. Kitterman was transported by Stark County Ambulance to St. Luke Hospital.
She was later cited for driving too fast for conditions, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content over .08, and driving without insurance.

2-3-20 – Teresa R. Wilkins, 38, Wyoming, was arrested on a Henry County warrant for failure to appear on a previous charge for shoplifting. Her cash bond was set at $2,000. She was taken into custody and transported to the Stark County Jail.
2-4-20 – An incident involving a civil matter was reported to authorities from a rural West Jersey resident.
2-7-20 – Kevin R. Wright, of Wyoming, reported a theft after discovering his snow blower was missing from his property. The incident remains under investigation.
