Farmington man dies in motorcycle crash
BARTONVILLE – A Farmington man was killed in a single-motorcycle accident in Bartonville.
Jordan T. Marinich, 34, of West Fort Road was pronounced brain dead at 2:26 p.m. July 12 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was transported there after the crash about 10:30 a.m. July 10 in the 2500 block of S. Kickapoo Creek Rd., according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.
A passerby came upon the accident and contacted rescuers. Marinich arrived at the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to multiple blunt-force-trauma injuries, according to Harwood.
Marinich was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Toxicology is pending, and the Bartonville Police Department is investigating. Marinich was cremated and a celebration of his life is to be scheduled, according to Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.

Chillicothe man dies in crash near Monica
MONICA – A Chillicothe motorcyclist was killed Sunday in a two-vehicle crash south of Monica.
William A. Dean, 64, was pronounced dead at 5:07 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood. That was about 45 minutes after Dean was involved in an accident at Parks School and Elliott roads.
The wreck involved a pickup truck, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. Details weren’t available, but afterward Dean was unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse, Harwood stated. Dean died, probably instantly, from multiple blunt-force-trauma injuries.
Per the sheriff’s office, the unidentified pickup-truck driver was not injured. Toxicology on Dean is pending, and the sheriff’s department was investigating. The Brimfield Community Fire Protection District was among the responders.

Police Reports
• PRINCEVILLE – A Princeville-area woman surrendered to authorities following a domestic dispute.
The incident took place about 9:30 a.m. July 20 at a residence in the 21000 block of N. Princeville Cemetery Rd. A man there claimed Stephanie L. Streitmatter, 61, punched him in the back. A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy noted the victim had a large, red mark on his back, a report stated.
Streitmatter left the residence following the incident but reported to the Peoria County Jail about 5:30 p.m. July 20. She was accused of domestic battery/physical contact.
• HANNA CITY – A Hanna City man was accused of various crimes following a domestic dispute at his residence.
Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped Chester W. Hoffman, 72, about 10 p.m. July 19 after he drove from the scene, in the 10800 block of W. Farmington Rd. There, authorities found a swollen-nosed woman whose shirt was ripped and bloodied and whose arms were bruised, according to a report.
The victim stated she and Hoffman had been arguing for eight hours. Hoffman was charged with aggravated domestic battery/great bodily harm, unlawful restraint and interfering with a report of domestic violence, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• KICKAPOO – No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle wreck west of Kickapoo.
Shortly before noon July 15, Julie A. Funk of Pekin was driving a westbound 2005 Jeep Liberty on U.S. Route 150 about one-quarter mile west of Princeville-Jubilee Road when the vehicle rear-ended a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. Its driver was Peoria resident Joseph C. Boyer, who had one passenger.
Funk said she did not see Boyer’s vehicle after it slowed behind a car that was turning left onto a private drive, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. She tried to avoid a collision, but her vehicle struck the Equinox’s rear corner.
The Liberty sustained damage to its front passenger-side corner and fender, and the Equinox’s rear bumper and driver’s-side rear corner were damaged. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
• DUNLAP – A Princeville woman was uninjured in a two-vehicle accident in Dunlap.
The wreck happened about 6:30 p.m. July 12 at Illinois Route 91 and Ash Street. Julie C. Morrissey was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe north on Route 91 when a 2023 Honda Civic westbound on Ash Street collided with it. The other driver was Alaina G. Watkins of Peoria.
Watkins said she was stopped at Route 91 and checked for oncoming traffic before she proceeded into the intersection, but she didn’t see Morrissey’s vehicle approaching, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. Watkins reported no injuries.
Neither vehicle was towed and both sustained moderate damage, the report stated.
• EDWARDS – Someone drove into a guardrail along a road east of Edwards, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
The damaged guardrail was discovered about 10 a.m. July 1 on the east side of the 5500 block of N. Heinz Lane. The guardrail was bent partially into the roadway, a sheriff’s-office report stated. No vehicle was at the scene, but a deputy found a headlight assembly and a Volkswagen emblem.
Neighbors said they didn’t see or hear an accident, according to the report. Kickapoo Township workers moved the guardrail off the road and were to notify the Illinois Department of Transportation.
• BARTONVILLE – A Farmington woman avoided significant injury in a two-vehicle collision southwest of Bartonville.
At 3:45 p.m. June 25, Ann E. Anderson was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu south in the 5400 block of Cameron Lane when she said she didn’t obey a stop sign at the intersection with Lancaster Road, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. A 2015 Ford Explorer driven by Wendy L. Hayes of Mapleton struck Anderson’s vehicle.
The front passenger-side bumper of the Explorer hit the Malibu driver’s-side door. Emergency medical crews checked Anderson and Hayes, neither of whom required additional attention. The Malibu was towed.
• FARMINGTON – No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision southeast of Farmington.
The accident happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. June 30 at Downs School and Linn roads, per the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
James F. Mistic of Canton was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck south on Downs School Road and attempting to turn west onto Linn Road when the vehicle slid on wet pavement and hit a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. That vehicle was stopped eastbound on Linn Road at the intersection.
The other driver was Philip C. Grgurich of Canton. He said he was waiting to turn north onto Downs School Road. His pickup truck sustained damage to its front-left side, as did Mistic’s truck. Both trucks were driven from the scene.
• PRINCEVILLE – The driver of a beer truck said a Stark County man rolled his vehicle into it while it was parked at a Princeville business, according to authorities.
The unidentified driver for Brewers Distributing Co. of Peoria was delivering about 7:30 a.m. June 23 to American Liquor & Food, 615 E. Main St. A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report identified the other driver as Carl P. Porter of Wyoming. He was driving a 2006 Ford F-350 pickup truck.
Porter and the truck driver exchanged information. A deputy was unable to contact Porter later. His vehicle was uninsured, according to the report. Damage of more than $1,500 was cited.
• ELMWOOD – An Elmwood man reported no injuries in a single-vehicle accident at the northeast edge of his hometown.
Joseph L. Rynearson was driving an eastbound 2010 Jeep Carryall at 10:30 p.m. July 4 in the 23000 block of W. Tiber Creek Rd. when a silver sedan caused him to swerve off the road and into the ditch, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Rynearson said the other vehicle was in his lane of traffic and he wanted to avoid a collision. There was no contact between the vehicles. Rynearson’s vehicle sustained significant damage to its entire passenger side, but Rynearson drove it home.
• PRINCEVILLE – A Princeville woman declined medical treatment after she drove into a parked vehicle, according to authorities.
Rhonda S. Rock was driving an eastbound 2010 MG about 10:15 p.m. June 30 in the 500 block of E. Main St. in Princeville when it struck a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. Rock said she wasn’t wearing her glasses and looked down at her cellphone while driving.
The MG sustained significant damage to its front, according to the report. The rear bumper and tailgate of the Silverado was damaged, apparently to a lesser extent.
• HANNA CITY – Rocky L. Williams, 44, of Hanna City was arrested at 9 a.m. July 11 and accused of driving on a revoked license, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• FARMINGTON – Shortly after 8:45 p.m. July 7, Brandon J. Hoadley of Peoria was driving an eastbound 2020 Volkswagen Atlas in the 23700 block of W. Farmington Rd. when the vehicle struck a dog that crossed from the south. Hoadley appeared to be uninjured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained significant damage to its right-front fender and was driven from the scene.
• TRIVOLI – Shortly before 1:30 a.m. July 2, Brice Beecher of Trivoli was driving a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck in the 1600 block of N. Stone School Rd. when the vehicle struck a deer. Beecher reported no injuries, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The deer hit the front bumper of the truck, then ran into the woods with an injured leg. The vehicle sustained front-end and bumper damage.
• HANNA CITY – At 11:15 p.m. March 27, Kayla S. Walkup of Peoria was driving a 2013 Ford sedan south in the 1400 block of N. Eden Rd. northwest of Hanna City when the vehicle struck a deer. Walkup was uninjured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report released recently. Duct tape was holding together the front bumper of her vehicle when a deputy observed it.
• EDWARDS – Ava L. Goodrum, 18, of Edwards was arrested at 8 p.m. July 20 and accused of domestic battery/physical contact, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• LAURA – Zachary D. Robertson, 34, of Laura was arrested at 11 p.m. July 16 and accused of criminal trespass to a residence, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• HANNA CITY – Robert D. Farris, 41, of Hanna City was arrested about 9 p.m. July 15 and accused of aggravated domestic battery/great bodily harm, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• HANNA CITY – Robert G. Farris, 63, of Hanna City was arrested about 9 p.m. July 15 and accused of aggravated domestic battery/great bodily harm, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• HANNA CITY – Mitchell K. Wileman, 36, of Hanna City was arrested at 11:45 a.m. July 10 and accused of domestic battery/physical contact, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
