• ELMWOOD – An Elmwood man was arrested for drunken driving after he backed his vehicle into a house, according to authorities.
Elmwood Fire Department personnel found Cole Z. Taylor, 36, asleep behind the wheel of a blue 2018 Lincoln MKZ about 6:45 a.m. Aug. 11 at a residence in the 300 block of W. Peoria St. The garage door and adjacent siding were damaged, according to a sheriff’s-office report.
Taylor said he was parked in his driveway when something made his car reverse across the roadway and into a house across the street. The owner of that house said a loud bang awakened her. She went outside and saw Taylor asleep in the driver’s seat. She did not try to wake him.
About two hours later, Taylor registered a blood-alcohol content of .072, just below the legal limit of .08, the report stated. Taylor was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and for unsafe backing in a roadway.
• PEORIA – More charges were filed against a Peoria doctor accused of video recording females who used employee restrooms at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Henry Chang, 28, was accused of 55 new felony counts of unlawful video recording, according to the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office. Detectives found on Chang’s computers more than 100 recordings from cameras hidden in two restrooms. Chang was recording for more than a month.
Earlier, Chang was accused of placing a video camera in one OSF employee restroom.
A $115,000 warrant was issued for Chang, according to the state’s attorney’s office. Law enforcement is working with OSF HealthCare to identify victims. Additional charges are expected next month, after a grand jury considers the case.
• GALESBURG – A Dahinda woman required hospital attention following a car-cow accident north of Galesburg.
Madison Nelson, 18, was a passenger in a 2011 Ford Taurus that struck and killed a cow about 11:45 p.m. Aug. 10 at U.S. Route 150 near Knox Road 2350 North. The cow had wandered onto the federal highway, upon which the vehicle was headed north, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report.
Nelson’s head struck a rear side window. An ambulance transported Nelson to OSF Saint Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. There was no information regarding her condition. The driver, 18-year-old Kadence R. Maulden of Alpha, sustained a bruised left arm.
• ELMWOOD – A Peoria man was arrested in connection with a domestic disturbance at an Elmwood residence.
The incident happened about 12:45 a.m. Aug. 8 in the 400 block of W. Ash St., per a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. A woman there alleged Torrean E. Walker, 30, grabbed her neck and punched and kicked her. Walker then left. A deputy noted red marks on the woman’s neck and face.
Not long thereafter, Walker was arrested at a residence on McClure Avenue in Peoria. He was transported to the Peoria County Jail and accused of aggravated domestic battery. Walker also was wanted in Peoria County for speeding 26-34 mph over the limit.
• PRINCEVILLE – An ambulance transported a Princeville woman to a Peoria hospital after her vehicle dragged her 30 feet down a driveway. Teresa F. Gilroy told a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy she parked her 2017 Subaru Forester about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 6 in the driveway, in the 200 block of W. Spring St.
Gilroy believed she put the Forester in park, but it rolled backward, according to a sheriff’s-office report. Gilroy hung on to the vehicle, which stopped after it struck a telephone-wire box. Gilroy sustained minor injuries, which were treated at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
• EDWARDS – A Trivoli man was injured in a motorcycle accident south of Edwards.
Erick C. Luncsford was aboard a westbound 2009 Harley-Davidson about 3:30 p.m. Aug. 4 in the 9300 block of W. Goetz Rd. when its rear brake locked and he lost control of the motorcycle, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
The motorcycle went north through a fence before it came to rest about 100 feet from impact. An ambulance crew treated Luncsford for multiple lacerations, but he refused transportation to a hospital.
Luncsford was cited for operating a vehicle with a revoked/suspended license and for operating a vehicle without insurance.
• KICKAPOO – A Kickapoo man was arrested for drunken driving after his vehicle crashed into a stop sign at an intersection.
About 6:15 p.m. July 31, Jalen J. Cannon was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala on the Interstate 74 eastbound exit ramp at Kickapoo- Edwards Road when he lost control of the vehicle, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The vehicle struck the stop sign and rolled into a ditch south of the ramp.
Cannon was uninjured, the report stated. The vehicle sustained a dented front fender and was towed.
• KICKAPOO – A Brimfield man drove his vehicle into another that was parked along a road southwest of Kickapoo, authorities stated.
William E. Weber was behind the wheel of an eastbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck about noon July 27 in the 11700 block of W. Hickory Springs Drive when it struck a parked 2004 Ford sport-utility vehicle.
According to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report, Weber said he was looking for something in the truck’s center console. By the time he returned his gaze to the road, it was too late to react. Weber declined medical treatment. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed.
• ELMWOOD – Someone drove a vehicle onto a green at an Elmwood golf course, according to authorities. The incident happened early Aug. 16 on the second green at Maple Lane Country Club, 701 N. Magnolia St. Tire tracks were found in dew and on sand, according to the Elmwood Police Department.
• SOUTH ROME – Shortly before 11:45 p.m. Aug. 4, Timothy J. Yelm of Williamsfield was driving a 2016 GMC 1500 pickup truck north in the 14700 block of N. Old Galena Rd. west of South Rome when the vehicle struck a deer. Yelm wasn’t injured, per a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. He drove away the truck, which sustained damage to its front passenger side.
• TRIVOLI – At 10:15 a.m. July 28, William A. Duhs of Ralston, Neb., was driving a 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan south in the 4300 block of N. Texas Rd. when the vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the east. Duhs was uninjured, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The minivan’s front driver’s side sustained more than $1,500 in damage.
• ELMWOOD – Breanna L. Kiesner, 33, of Elmwood was arrested about 6:45 a.m. Aug. 17 and was being held for another law-enforcement agency, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• FARMINGTON – Brian L. Breese, 30, of Farmington was arrested at noon Aug. 15 and was being held for another law-enforcement agency, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• PRINCEVILLE – Cormac W. Flanagan, 49, of Princeville was arrested about 3:15 p.m. Aug. 14 and accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal stopping/standing/parking, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between Aug. 6-12: battery, Yates City; suspicious incident, Dahinda; two domestic disputes, Yates City; fraud, Dahinda.
