• FARMINGTON – A Farmington man wanted in Peoria County on illicit-drugs charges was accused of similar crimes in Fulton County.
Sean R. Holton, 38, was arrested about 11 p.m. Nov. 5 at Circle K, 1006 E. Fort St., after Farmington police received a tip regarding his arrest warrant for failure to appear in court. Peoria County officials accused Holton of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.
A Farmington police search revealed Holton was carrying a capped syringe, two glass pipes, a small bag that contained an unknown substance and a clear plastic bag that contained six pills suspected to be clonazepam, a sedative. Field tests on the pipes and a bag were positive for oxycodone and fentanyl.
Holton was accused of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Peoria County Jail. He was to have appeared earlier this week in Fulton County Circuit Court in Lewistown.
• FARMINGTON – A Farmington resident accused two men of denting his garage door by throwing pumpkins at it. Tyler A. Davis, 20, of Farmington and Logan R. Morse, 19, of Yates City were implicated in the incident, which took place about 5 a.m. Nov. 5 in the 400 block of E. Prospect St. A 25-year-old resident there said he confronted the men after they pilfered the pumpkins from his yard, a Farmington police report stated.
The men then ran to the west. A short time later on East Court Street, an officer spotted a 2002 silver Chevrolet Cavalier occupied by two men who fit the victim’s descriptions. The officer took their photographs and texted them to the victim, who identified them.
They were cited for criminal damage to property over $500. Their dates in Fulton County Circuit Court were earlier this week.
• PEORIA – A Hanna City man and his passenger avoided injury when another vehicle veered into theirs in Peoria, according to authorities.
Jayson T. Wheeler was driving a westbound 2011 BMW 535i at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the 4300 block of SW Adams St. when a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu moved into the same lane and clipped the other vehicle’s rear driver’s-side fender. The Malibu driver was Alecia D. Owens of Peoria.
Wheeler followed Owens until she stopped, in the 3400 block of Farmington Rd., a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. Owens said she didn’t believe her vehicle struck Wheeler’s, but a deputy noted paint transferred on both vehicles’ fenders.
Owens was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and for driving without a license.
• PEORIA – A Farmington man escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash in Limestone Township.
Shortly before 5 a.m. Oct. 24, Matthew E. King was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze east on Illinois Route 116 at Cameron Lane when a 2012 Toyota Prius struck his vehicle. The other driver, David W. Burton of Des Plaines, was northbound on Cameron Lane.
Burton said he didn’t see King’s vehicle because of road-construction barriers, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The impact on the passenger side of the Cruze caused the vehicle to spin, strike a concrete barrier and stop facing the opposite direction.
King’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed. Burton’s vehicle had front-end damage but was driven from the scene. An uninjured Burton was cited for failure to yield at an intersection and was given a notice to appear Nov. 22 in Peoria County Circuit Court.
• DUNLAP – An Edwards man declined medical attention following a two-vehicle crash south of Dunlap.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Oct. 21, Jackson S. Newton was driving a 2017 BMW east on Alta Lane at Illinois Route 91 when his vehicle collided with a westbound 2023 Honda CR-V. Its driver was Vijay Kumar Sangi Setty of Peoria, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The CR-V was turning left onto Route 91 when the head-on collision happened. Sangi Setty also declined medical treatment. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage and were towed.
• FARMINGTON – Daniel L. Watkins, 36, of London Mills was arrested about 10:45 p.m. Oct. 27 following a traffic stop for erratic driving, according to a Farmington police report. Watkins was wanted in Fulton County for failure to appear in court. Watkins showed no signs of intoxication. Watkins was transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. The three passengers in his 2018 Dodge Journey were released.
• HANNA CITY – About 6:45 a.m. Oct. 27, Terri K. Wise of Trivoli was driving a northbound 2019 Ford Escape in the 2500 block of N. McAllister Rd. north of Hanna City when the vehicle sideswiped a deer. Wise refused medical attention, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The vehicle was dented and its paint was damaged. The deer could not be located.
• FARMINGTON – Shortly before 7 p.m. Oct. 23, Nancy S. Smith of Carthage was driving a westbound 2018 Honda CR-V in the 22700 block of W. Illinois Route 116 east of Farmington when her vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the south. Smith said she wasn’t injured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained moderate damage but was drivable. The deer could not be located.
• EDWARDS – At 1:30 p.m. Oct. 20, Karl A. Edwards of Edwards was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla south on Kickapoo-Edwards Road at Valley View Road when the vehicle struck a deer. Edwards declined medical attention, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained at least $1,500 in damage.
• PRINCEVILLE – Micah F. Winkler, 38, of Princeville was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. Nov. 10 and accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• ELMWOOD – Chief Aaron Bean reported the following Elmwood Police Department activity for October: one arrest, one ordinance violation, five stops, seven warnings and 12 reports.
• WILLIAMSFIELD – Chief James Robertson reported the following Williamsfield Police Department activity for October: one attempted sex-offender verification, one person down, one accidental alarm, one parking complaint, one domestic complaint and one warning for an unlit vehicle-registration light.
• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between Oct. 29-Nov. 4: other public complaint, Yates City; burglary, Dahinda; threats, Williamsfield; dog bite, Yates City; domestic dispute, Yates City; theft, Galva.
