New clinic opens Dec. 11 in Toulon

TOULON – The Stark County Health Department will open its new First Choice Healthcare Clinic in Toulon on Monday, Dec. 11.

The Health Department has entered into a partnership with the State Bank of Toulon, First Choice Healthcare and OneroRx Inc.-Local Health, Inc., to bring this new multi-service facility to Stark County.

The clinic is located in the former Aunt Martha’s-Great River Community Health Center location at 120 E. Court St. Clinic hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“This new healthcare center will offer Stark County and area residents public health, primary care, mental health, tele-psych, Women, Infants & Children Food Supplemental Program and pharmacy services all under one roof,” said Duane Stevens, health department public health administrator. “The pharmacy location will be open to anyone wanting to utilize their services and will accept prescriptions from surrounding medical offices.”

Patrons should note that the pharmacy will not open with the rest of the clinic on Dec. 11. An announcement about the opening of the pharmacy is expected soon. OneroRx of Des Moines, Iowa, bills itself as “an integrated pharmacy for underserved markets.”

“The Health Department and First Choice Healthcare along with our other partners in this project are so excited that this new healthcare location will bring much-needed public health, clinical, mental health and pharmacy services to the residents of Stark County, who would otherwise have to travel considerable distances to surrounding communities for such services,” Stevens said. “All involved are so excited about this local healthcare clinic and are looking forward to being able to better serve the residents of Stark County in a more centralized, accessible and customer friendly location.”
