• OAK HILL – A Brimfield man was arrested after an early-morning confrontation with two women at an Oak Hill-area residence.
Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputies were summoned shortly before 7 a.m. Dec. 10 to the 16900 block of W. Oak Hill Cemetery Rd. There they found Dylan J. Snider, 31, who according to a sheriff’s- office report arrived at the residence about 4 a.m.
One victim accused Snider of hitting her in the face with an empty beer case. The other accused him of grabbing her and punching her in the ribs. The report was heavily redacted, but one victim was 49 and the other was 18. One victim sustained a scratched inner-right wrist.
Snider was confrontational upon his arrival, according to the victims. He refused to speak with deputies, the report stated. Snider was accused of two counts of domestic battery and was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
On Dec. 13 at this address, a female was arrested on domestic-battery accusations, according to the sheriff’s office. It cited an ongoing investigation in not releasing a report about the incident.
• FARMINGTON – A Farmington man was arrested for drunken driving after a test revealed his blood-alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.
Rowdy G. Eldridge, 19, was behind the wheel of a 2006 white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when a Farmington police officer stopped it shortly before 3 a.m. Dec. 3 in the 1000 block of E. Fort St. A witness reported the truck was swerving and speeding, according to a police report.
Eldridge smelled of alcohol and walked unsteadily, the report stated.
His preliminary breath test registered .244. The legal limit is .08. Eldridge admitted to consuming at least five alcoholic drinks about 2 a.m.
After his truck was towed, Eldridge was charged with DUI, failure to wear a seat belt and operating a vehicle with expired registration. He is to appear Dec. 29 in Fulton County Circuit Court in Lewistown.
• ABINGDON – A Brimfield man’s pickup truck was involved in a single-vehicle crash north of Abingdon.
Lucas R. Tinkham, 21, of Galesburg was driving the northbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado about 6:30 a.m. Dec. 5 on Illinois Route 41 near Knox Road 800 North when he lost control of the vehicle, which slid into the southbound ditch and flipped on its roof, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Brian R. Keith of Brimfield was listed in the report as the Silverado owner. Tinkham reported no injuries, but the truck sustained more than $1,500 in damage and was towed.
• FARMINGTON – Someone hacked into a Farmington woman’s debit-card account and stole $902 from it, according to authorities.
The alleged theft was reported about 2:30 p.m. Dec. 1, according to a Farmington Police Department report. The 49-year-old victim said she went online to figure out what happened, and the website would not accept her PIN.
• ELMWOOD – No injuries were reported after one vehicle struck another in the parking lot of Elmwood Junior and Senior High School.
The accident happened about 8 a.m. Nov. 30, according to an Elmwood Police Department report. A 16-year-old girl was pulling a Chevrolet Monte Carlo into a parking space when the vehicle struck a Nissan Maxima.
Its driver, a 16-year-old girl, said she already was parked in an adjacent space.
Each vehicle had one passenger, a 14-year-old boy in the Monte Carlo and an 11-year-old girl in the Maxima. Damage to the vehicles was less than $500, the report stated.
• LAURA – About 6:15 p.m. Dec. 9, Stephen J. Mattern of Brimfield was driving a 2013 Toyota Sienna north in the 22300 block of Illinois Route 78 south of Laura when the vehicle struck a raccoon.
The vehicle sustained undercarriage damage, including an antifreeze leak, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. Mattern was able to drive away.
• ELMWOOD – Marcia L. Snider, 49, of Elmwood was arrested shortly before 12:30 p.m. Dec. 13 and accused of two counts of domestic battery/bodily harm, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• FARMINGTON – No injuries were reported following a fire that destroyed the front of a cable-company truck parked at a Farmington intersection.
The blaze began shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday at Fulton and Cedar streets, according to the Farmington Community Fire Protection district. When crews arrived, the engine compartment and cab of a Mediacom Communications Corp. work truck were engulfed in flames.
According to Fire Chief Matt Watters, the driver was in a bucket elevated above the vehicle when he saw smoke emitting from the engine compartment. Crews extinguished the fire within minutes. The fire cause had not been determined.
