• FARMINGTON – A Galesburg man was accused of multiple crimes and received hospital treatment after he forced his way into a Farmington woman’s residence, according to authorities.
Farmington police were summoned about 8:45 p.m. Jan. 9 to the 500 block of W. Fulton St. There, an officer found Timothy D. Bishop, 32, shaking inside a vehicle parked in the 37-year-old victim’s garage.
Bishop said he was having a panic attack, according to a police report.

The victim said she returned home to find Bishop had broken into the garage, pulled in his vehicle, then broke open the door that connects the garage to the residence, the report stated. Bishop said he panicked when he discovered the victim wasn’t home. He admitted to kicking open a door.

An ambulance transported Bishop to Graham Hospital in Canton. Eventually, he was transported from the hospital to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

Bishop was charged with residential burglary, criminal damage to property and violating an order of protection.

• BRIMFIELD – A Brimfield man appeared to avoid serious injury from a single-vehicle accident in the wake of a snowstorm.

Alexander P. Dwyer lost control of the 2008 Jeep Wagoneer he was driving about 1:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in the 13600 block of U.S. Route 150 between Brimfield and Kickapoo, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Report. The vehicle slid on ice into a ditch on the north side of the road, then rolled onto its roof.

Dwyer spoke with a deputy, but the driver’s condition was not noted in the report. The vehicle was towed. Pieces of the significantly dented vehicle were strewn around it in the snow.

• EDELSTEIN – A domestic dispute at an Edelstein-area residence resulted in the arrest of a local man.
Jeffrey R. Ryan, 50, was accused of domestic battery following the incident, which took place about 6:30 p.m. Jan. 7 in the 19300 block of N. Hakes Rd. Accounts differ, but the 51-year-old female victim sustained a cut on the back of her head, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

Ryan appeared to be intoxicated and admitted to drinking alcohol, the report stated. He was transported to the Peoria County Jail, where upon arrival he at first resisted deputies’ attempts to lead him into the building.

• FARMINGTON – A police officer’s attempt to check on a registered sex offender in Farmington resulted in another man’s arrest on two outstanding warrants.

Justin F. Kling, 39, of Farmington answered the door of a residence in the 100 block of N. Oak St. shortly before 10 a.m. Jan. 4 and told the officer the man he was seeking didn’t live there, according to a police report.

The officer discovered Kling was wanted in Fulton County for aggravated battery and in Knox County for driving under the influence of alcohol. Bond was $7,500 in the 2022 Knox County case, $3,000 in the 2019 Fulton County case. Kling was transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

• BRIMFIELD – A Peoria woman sustained minor injuries from a single-vehicle accident north of Brimfield.

About 4:45 a.m. Jan. 1, Tristan R. Ford was driving a 2019 Ford Fiesta south on Maher Road when she lost control of the vehicle while attempting to stop at Parks School Road, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.

The vehicle traveled through the intersection and down an embankment, then landed on its top in a stream bed about 20 feet below the road surface. The 19-year-old Ford exited the vehicle and walked to a nearby residence, from where she called her parents.

Ford said she was traveling home from a friend’s house in Toulon and her GPS routed her on Maher Road, which she had not driven before. An ambulance transported Ford to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

• HANNA CITY – Shortly before 11:45 p.m. Jan. 4, Austin J. Anderson of Farmington was driving a westbound 2015 Chevrolet Cruze in the 11500 block of W. Smithville Rd. south of Hanna City when the vehicle struck a deer. Anderson declined medical attention, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained disabling front-end damage and was towed.

• EDWARDS – Austin A. Lonergan, 23, of Edwards was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Jan. 8 and accused of criminal trespass to land, criminal damage to property of less than $500, obstructing an officer and two counts of possessing burglary tools in a motor vehicle, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. Lonergan also was being held for another law-enforcement agency.
