• KICKAPOO – A Yates City man was accused of unlawfully obtaining almost $1,300 at a Kickapoo-area business.
Zachary R. Cassel, 31, was arrested shortly after 3:45 p.m. Sept. 3 regarding the incident. It happened about 7:45 p.m. Aug. 31 at Jubilee Café, 7203 N. Kickapoo-Edwards Rd.
A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report was heavily redacted, but it appears a debit card was used to access $1,291.02. Princeville State Bank was listed in the report.
Cassel was accused of theft-control intent between $500 and $10,000 and unlawful use of a credit/debit card, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. Cassel was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
• BELLEVUE – A Princeville man was involved in a two-vehicle accident west of Bellevue.
The accident happened at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 28 at Cameron Lane and Illinois Route 116. Nikolas L. Potter was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado north on Cameron Lane when it clipped the rear of a 2019 Subaru sport-utility vehicle driven by Kayla S. Clark of Glasford, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Clark’s vehicle was stopped at the intersection. Potter said he was trying to pass the vehicle on its left. His vehicle’s passenger-side front bumper sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were drivable.
• BRIMFIELD – A Brimfield man was accused of assaulting someone at a local residence.
Dylan J. Snider, 31, was arrested shortly after the incident was reported, about 10:45 a.m. Aug. 27 in the 100 block of W. Knoxville St. Most of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report about the incident was redacted. It did note the victim was from Peoria and a Brimfield resident was a witness.
Snider was charged with domestic battery/bodily harm and transported to the Peoria County Jail.
• FARMINGTON – Multiple crimes were attributed to a Roseville woman after a wrecked vehicle she apparently was driving was abandoned at a Farmington intersection.
A Farmington police officer found the 2016 Jeep Compass shortly before 5 a.m. Aug. 25 at Prospect and Main streets. The officer determined the vehicle left the roadway near Main Street and Barlow Road, traveled 110 yards, struck a tree, then turned around, according to a police report.
The officer tried to contact the vehicle’s registered owner, a 63-year-old Monmouth woman, to no avail. He received a tip that Trina N. Pettigrew, 41, had used a telephone at a local convenience store to call for flat-tire help.
When the officer contacted Pettigrew, she said she would meet with him, but she never showed, the report stated. Pettigrew was charged with failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
• FARMINGTON – Someone drove away from a Farmington gasoline station without paying for $80 in fuel, according to authorities.
The theft was reported about 11 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Marathon station located at 600 E. Fort St. A worker there said a gray-haired ponytailed man driving a white Chevrolet van pumped the gas, then left the station and drove west on Fort Street, according to a Farmington police report.
• PEORIA – A Dahinda-area woman was arrested recently after she was accused of hitting someone repeatedly in June at a Peoria tavern. Jennifer Weaver, 50, was taken into custody Aug. 20 in connection with an incident that happened June 21 at Sparky’s, 1916 N. Wisconsin Ave.
Security video indicated a woman later identified as Weaver struck a man in the face and knocked him off a stool following an argument, according to a Peoria Police Department report. The woman punched the victim, who was not aggressive toward her physically, at least 10 times before she fled.
The victim sustained neck and facial injuries. Weaver was charged with aggravated battery.
• OAK HILL – Shortly after 11:45 p.m. Aug. 14, Makayla C. Couch of Yates City was driving a southbound 2021 Honda Civic in the 5400 block of N. Texas Rd. south of Oak Hill when the vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the east. The deer struck the driver’s-side door, front-left quarter panel and the windshield, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Couch complained about soreness and sustained nicks from shattered glass. She was to seek medical attention. The vehicle received additional damage to its hood, front bumper and left headlight and was towed.
• BRIMFIELD – Ryan L. Jackson, 22, of Brimfield was arrested shortly before 10:15 p.m. Aug. 30 and accused of two counts of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office. Jackson also was being held for another law-enforcement agency.
• HANNA CITY – Kyleigh A. Rebatzke, 19, of Hanna City was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. Aug. 29 and accused of aggravated battery and mob action, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• FARMINGTON – Chief Chris Darsham reported the following Farmington Police Department activity for August: 332 business checks, 4,460 building checks, three crashes handled, two property crimes, seven traffic tickets, 15 ordinance violations, five crimes against people, 15 misc., 19 traffic stops, nine arrests, 22 reports, 352 calls and 26 assists to other police departments.
• ELMWOOD – Chief Aaron Bean reported the following Elmwood Police Department activity for August: one warning, one ordinance violation and four reports.
• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between Aug. 25-31: domestic dispute, Yates City; damage, Williamsfield; vehicle theft, Williamsfield; gas leak, Williamsfield; abandoned vehicle, Galva.
