Incidents & Accidents
Stark County

9-12 – Dustin L. Wood, 35, Camp Grove, ticketed for disobeying a stop sign, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving on a suspended or revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with damage and possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle. He was released with a court date to appear.
9-29 – Karl E. Griffin, 58, Peoria, cited for speeding 81 mph in a 55 zone.
10-1 – Renee M. Rose, 22, Kewanee, cited for driving while her license was suspended. She was issued a court date to appear.
10-1 – Bui A. Dinh, 22, Peoria, cited for speeding 81 mph in a 55 zone.
10-4 – A Toulon resident reported a possible theft.
10-4 – A battery was reported and investigated in the 100 block of N. Peoria St.
10-4 – Margarita Duarte, 50, Kewanee, ticketed for speeding 73 mph in a 55 zone and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was issued a court date.
10-5 – Ian Potter, 35, of Wyoming was involved in a single-vehicle accident on 1120 E. Road, rural Wyoming. The wrecked vehicle was discovered by Stark County Deputy William Dorn at 1:53 a.m. in a ditch with extensive damage.
Potter later reported tto the Stark County Sheriff’s Office that he had been driving the vehicle. According to the accident report, the vehicle was traveling south when it left the roadway on the east side and traveled a few hundred feet before striking a utility pole. The vehicle continued forward for 77 feet before stopping.
Potter was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and failure to report the crash to authorities at the time of the accident. He was released with a court date to appear.
10-6 – Jason S. Jackson, 49, Bradford, cited for driving with suspended registration and for operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a court date.

Galva Report
Officer dispatched:

9-30 – to the 00 block of SE 3rd St. for a loose dog complaint. Officer contacted an owner, who put the dog back inside the residence.
9-30 – to assist the ambulance on NW 6th St. with a subject who fell against a door, which made it difficult to access him. Officer was able to remove the door and gain access.
9-30 – to the 200 block of SW 7th St. to view messages on a cellular device that were received and mentioned suicidal thoughts. The juvenile offender was located in Kewanee and taken by ambulance for treatment / evaluation.
10-1 – to multiple complaints in the SW part of town about a female screaming and walking around the area. Officer located the subject, who appeared to be suffering from a mental-health crisis.
10-1 – A 16-year-old Galva juvenile was cited for speeding in the 1200 block of James B. Young Rd.
10-2 – to locate a juvenile who left home on a bicycle after being sent home from school. Officer located the juvenile downtown and followed him home to a waiting parent.
10-2 – to assist the Henry County Housing Authority locate and serve banning letters to three Galva residents.
10-2 – to a few residences after school-aged kids threw toilet paper into trees. No enforcement action was taken.
10-2 – to the 800 block of NE 3rd St. for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile.
10-3 – to a residence on SE 4th St. for a suicidal subject who had realized they had been scammed. The subject was transported by ambulance for evaluation / treatment.
10-3 – to Hayes Road just west of town for a subject acting irrationally. The subject appeared to be suffering from a mental-health crisis. A family member came out and took the subject back home.
10-3 – to the 700 block of SW 4th St. for a battery complaint.
10-3 – to the 600 block of SW 4th St. for a juvenile mischief complaint. Several subjects were found to be throwing toilet paper. No enforcement action was taken.
10-3 – Makayla Alldredge, 26, Galva, was issued citations for operating an uninsured vehicle and not having valid registration.
10-4 – to the 200 block of NW 7th Ave. for a loose-dog complaint. Owner was spoken to and warned about the Illinois leash law.
10-4 – to the 200 block of NW 7th Ave. for a complaint involving a juvenile possessing a vaping device.
10-4 – to the 200 block of Morgan Rd. for a two-vehicle accident with damage only. As the result, Timothy Meier, 58, Galva, was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle.
10-4 – While patrolling, officer located a disabled vehicle with a flat tire on Main Street and assisted with changing the tire.
10-5 – to the 00 block of SE 2nd Ave. for a forgery complaint. It was determined to be a civil matter.
10-5 – to the 300 block of SE 5th St. for a reckless driving complaint.
10-5 – to the 00 block of Morgan Rd. for a disturbance complaint.
10-5 – to the 300 block of County Highway 5 for a 911-open-line complaint. It was a two-vehicle accident with air-bag deployment. Henry County handled a crash report.
10-6 – to a residence on NE 3rd Street for a report that an 8-year-old had attempted suicide by cutting their throat with a box cutter.
