• FARMINGTON – A fire at a residence southeast of Farmington destroyed a recreational vehicle and a detached garage. At least $73,000 in damage was estimated.
The blaze began about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 17 at 24019 W. Moul Rd., according to the Farmington Community Fire Protection District. The RV and the garage were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated the property owner noticed a circuit breaker in the RV was flipped, and he reset it. About 30 minutes later, someone pounded on his front door to alert him to the fire, which spread to the garage.
Inside the garage were two John Deere utility tractors, lawnmowers and various tools. The residence was undamaged. The fire cause was deemed accidental. No injuries were reported, although a Farmington police officer was transported to Graham Hospital in Canton, where he was treated for smoke inhalation.
Also responding were the Elba-Salem, Elmwood and Logan-Trivoli fire departments. Firefighters were at the scene for about two hours.
• FARMINGTON – Two Canton residents were arrested in Farmington for multiple crimes regarding illicit drugs and weapons.
A Farmington police officer was summoned about 1:30 p.m. Feb. 11 after a resident saw two people pushing a 2011 black Cadillac in the 100 block of N. Oak St. The officer found Beau T. Coulter, 34, and Renee L. Finley, 37, both of whom had valid arrest warrants in Fulton, Tazewell and Woodford counties.
Officers searched Coulter and Finley and found a used syringe that tested positive for methamphetamine, a report stated. Among the items in Finley’s purse were brass knuckles and a switchblade knife. Cannabis was found in the vehicle.
Finley was accused of unlawful possession of weapons by a convicted felon, possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle outside an approved container and illegal transportation of alcohol. Coulter was accused of illegal possession of adult-use cannabis by a driver.
Both suspects were transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. A Fulton County Sheriff’s Office deputy assisted Farmington police.
• BRIMFIELD – A farm tractor and a trailer reported stolen from a retailer in Indiana were found on a Brimfield-area property.
A 45-year-old East Peoria man is considered a suspect in the alleged theft, according to a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The missing items were discovered about 11 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 14200 block of W. Fussner Rd.
The tractor, a Kubota BX23S, was valued at $11,000. The SteelPoint/ MMDi trailer was valued at $3,000. Both were reported missing from a Home Depot store in Clarksville, Ind., which is located near Louisville, Ky.
• KICKAPOO – An all-terrain-vehicle accident northeast of Kickapoo resulted in a hospital visit for a Dunlap man.
Justin C. Weber was riding the Polaris ATV about 6:45 p.m. Feb. 2 near Brimfield-Jubilee and Feucht roads when a raccoon ran in front of him and caused him to swerve, per a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. Weber’s head struck the handlebar when the ATV stopped abruptly after it hit mud.
Weber, who said he was searching for his dog, sustained a forehead laceration. An ambulance transported Weber to Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
• BRIMFIELD – A Peoria man refused medical treatment following a rollover vehicle accident near Brimfield. Marcus A. Blackwell was driving a westbound 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck shortly after 7:45 a.m. Feb. 1 in the 16900 block of U.S. Route 150 when the vehicle began to fishtail on black ice, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
The pickup truck slid into the north-side ditch, rolled and came to rest on its driver’s side. A BYE Ambulance crew checked Blackwell. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed.
• KICKAPOO – A Princeville woman required a hospital trip following a single-vehicle wreck north of Kickapoo.
Jessie J. Galindo was driving a northbound 2024 Nissan Altima about 11:45 p.m. Jan. 31 on Princeville-Jubilee Road near Pin Oak Lane when she felt the vehicle lose traction. It left the pavement to the right and traveled about 30 feet through woods into a ditch, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Galindo said she believed she drove over ice. An ambulance transported her to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria because of a possible concussion. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed.
• KICKAPOO – A Brimfield-area woman reported no injuries following a single-vehicle accident southwest of Kickapoo.
Shortly before 9:45 p.m. Jan. 31, Kathleen R. Stenger was pulling a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck into a driveway in the 11400 block of W. Dubois Rd. when the vehicle slid on ice into a utility pole, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
A male passenger also reported no injuries. The pickup sustained functional damage to the rear passenger side of the truck bed. Ameren Illinois replaced the pole.
• FARMINGTON – Justin F. Kling, 40, of Farmington was arrested about 3:15 p.m. Feb. 7 on a Fulton County warrant for failure to appear in court regarding a no-bond burglary charge. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
• FARMINGTON – Pebbles M. Brown, 52, of Farmington was arrested shortly before 6 p.m. Jan. 31 at her residence on a Fulton County warrant for failure to appear in court regarding a drunken-driving charge. Brown said she could not post bond of $175. She was transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
• FARMINGTON – Jennifer L. Timm, 48, of Farmington surrendered about 6 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Farmington Police Department regarding a 2023 outstanding Fulton County warrant for methamphetamine possession. She was released and received a notice to appear in Fulton County Circuit Court in Lewistown, according to a police report.
• TOULON – On Feb. 2, James L. Sutton, 40, of Williamsfield was driving a 2018 Ram pickup truck on Illinois Route 17 near Toulon when the vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported, according to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle sustained more than $1,500 in damage.
• DOUGLAS – Shortly before 6:45 a.m. Jan. 29, Neal T. Mason, 52, of Maquon was driving a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in the 1600 block of Illinois Route 8 west of Douglas when the vehicle struck a deer. Mason was unhurt, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained damage but was drivable.
• EDWARDS – Donnie R. Tillman Jr., 43, of Edwards was arrested shortly before 3:45 a.m. Feb. 18 and accused of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• EDELSTEIN – Federico A. Richter, 38, of Edelstein was arrested at 5:45 p.m. Feb. 11 and accused of domestic battery/bodily harm, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• TRIVOLI – Darren M. McClister, 59, of Trivoli was arrested at 4 a.m. Feb. 9 and accused of two counts of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
• DAHINDA – Jay A. Yerkey, 39, of Dahinda was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 9 and accused of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
