• BELLEVUE – Princeville and Toulon men were among four people arrested for multiple crimes following a traffic stop in Bellevue.
Shortly before 3:15 p.m. March 25 in the 200 block of S. Main St., a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy noticed a southbound 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix that had no license plates. Among those inside the vehicle were Ronald L. Potter Jr., 38, of Princeville and Charles D. Slightom, 42, of Toulon.
A sheriff’s-office report about the incident was heavily redacted. Potter was accused of fleeing and/or eluding an officer, having no vehicle registration and possessing another person’s identification card. He also was being held for the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Slightom was accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, resisting police and obstructing justice. He also was booked for armed robbery in another Peoria County case and was wanted in Knox County for driving under the influence of alcohol and in Rock Island County for meth possession.
Also arrested were Nathan M. Ager-Bolton, 28, of Kewanee and Elizabeth S. Weldon, 36, of Peoria.
• PEORIA – An apparently malfunctioning motorcycle headlight resulted in a Princeville-area man’s arrest for multiple crimes, including illicit-drugs offenses.
Tracy D. Williams, 30, was aboard a 2001 Harley-Davidson a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped about 12:15 a.m. March 23 in the 3000 block of W. Lincoln Ave. in Limestone Township. The motorcycle’s headlight was off, then on, according to a heavily redacted sheriff’s-office report.
Williams was transported to the Peoria County Jail. He was accused of possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to deliver, unlawful use of a weapon, a headlight violation, operation an uninsured vehicle and improper use of registration.
• FARMINGTON – A Farmington husband and wife admitted they beat each other during a domestic dispute.
Christopher M. Layton, 42, and Angela D. Layton, 48, sustained minor injuries during the incident, which happened about 9:45 p.m. March 20 at a residence in the 500 block of Jennings Ave., according to a Farmington police report.
Both Laytons, who were bloodied, were transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Both were accused of domestic battery.
• BARTONVILLE – A Hanna City youth required a hospital visit following a two-vehicle accident west of Bartonville.
The boy was driving a northbound 2016 Mazda at 3 p.m. March 18 in the 2400 block of S. Cameron Lane when he tried to stop behind other vehicles stopped for a school bus. The driver thought he braked, but the vehicle accelerated into a 2022 Ford F-150, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Richard R. Bull of Canton was the pickup-truck driver. He reported no injuries. The boy was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center as a precaution. His vehicle sustained significant front-end damage and was towed. The F-150 sustained a damaged rear bumper but was drivable.
• HANNA CITY – A Hanna City-area man was accused of damaging about $500 in women’s clothing, among other things, during an incident at his residence.
Cyle A. Ford, 39, was arrested about 1:15 p.m. March 18 in the 15900 block of W. McDonald Rd., according to a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The victim is from Trivoli, and a witness is from Canton.
Also possibly damaged was a 2001 GMC Sonoma, although the report was unclear. Ford was charged with criminal damage to property, unlawful restraint and assault.
• YATES CITY – A Peoria woman appeared to avoid injury in a single-vehicle wreck north of Yates City.
Danielle R. Wollsey, 22, was driving an eastbound 2019 Hyundai Kona shortly before 10:45 p.m. March 16 on Knox Road 550 North at Knox Highway 18 when the vehicle left the pavement to the right, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report.
The vehicle proceeded through a grass field, struck a ditch, crossed Highway 18 and stopped in the opposite ditch. Wollsey blamed the accident on her unfamiliarity with the roads in that area. Her vehicle sustained more than $1,500 in damage and was towed.
• PEORIA – A Yates City man was arrested in connection with an alleged domestic-battery incident about three weeks earlier in Peoria.
A Peoria police officer apprehended Joshua R. Bateman, 33, about 4 a.m. March 16 in the 1900 block of W. Kellogg Ave. in West Peoria. Bateman was wanted after he was accused of slapping or punching a woman in the face Feb. 25 at Tires Plus, 4700 W. Brandywine Drive.
The left side of the victim’s face was red, as if she were slapped, according to a police report. Bateman was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
• FARMINGTON – A 21-year-old Farmington woman accused her former boyfriend and his current girlfriend of harassing her on social media.
The accusation was made about 4 p.m. March 16, according to a Farmington police report. The victim provided screenshots that included her personal information. The suspect is 21 and his girlfriend is 20. According to the victim, they are the subjects of a no-contact order filed in Florida. No other information was available.
• GALESBURG – A two-vehicle collision in a Galesburg mobile-home park left uninjured two people, including an Oak Run man.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m. March 15, 82-year-old Daniel W. Martin was driving a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander north in the 50 block of Country Elms Estates when a 2005 Ford Escape backed out of a driveway and into his vehicle, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Christopher J. Treadway, 43, of Galesburg was the other driver. He said he didn’t see the Outlander, which received damage to its front and rear passenger-side doors. The Escape sustained damage to its rear passenger-side bumper.
• ELMWOOD – Three people were arrested for multiple crimes following an apparent burglary attempt east of Elmwood.
The incident happened about 7:30 a.m. March 15 at a property in the 8400 block of N. Bell School Rd., heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office reports stated. Deputies responded after two black-dressed men were alleged to have broken into a vacant residence and barn.
Erik E. Pacelt, 34, of Pekin was accused of burglary, possession of methamphetamine, obstructing police and aggravated resisting arrest. Amanda M. Pratt, 41, of Canton and Rocky L. Williams II, 45, of Bartonville were accused of burglary, meth possession and obstructing police.
Pacelt was arrested about 8 a.m. at the scene. Pratt and Williams were arrested about a half-hour later in the 21300 block and 20500 block of W. Tiber Creek Rd., respectively. All three suspects were transported to the Peoria County Jail.
• EDWARDS – At 8 a.m. March 17, Jana L. Gunther of Peoria was driving a 2014 Toyota 4Runner south in the 5000 block of N. Koerner Rd. when the vehicle struck a deer in the road. No injuries to Gunther were listed on a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained minor damage but was drivable.
• HANNA CITY – Shortly after 8:15 p.m. March 13, Donna L. Cole of Bartonville was driving a southbound 2017 Toyota RAV4 in the 4000 block of S. Hanna City-Glasford Rd. when the vehicle struck a deer standing on the pavement. Cole said she wasn’t injured, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The vehicle was drivable, although it sustained minor damage.
