Police reports

• ELMWOOD – An Elmwood man was accused of violating an emergency order of protection, among other crimes. Dalton L. Sander, 20, was arrested Sept. 27, two days after he was accused of harassment through electronic communications, according to a redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. That incident involved Facebook. The order of protection was issued the same day.
Sander was accused of violating the order about noon Sept. 27 at a residence in the 400 block of N. Pleasant View St., according to an Elmwood police report. Sander also was accused of disorderly conduct, criminal trespass to land and criminal damage to property.

• ELMWOOD – Fire burned part of a field and appeared to damage a combine beyond repair on a farm near Elmwood. The fire in the 21600 block of W. Graham Chapel Rd. was reported shortly after 1:45 p.m. Oct. 3, according to Bob Tannock, chief of the Elmwood Fire Department. The farmer brought most of the blaze under control, with firefighters handling the rest.

• BRIMFIELD – An Iowa woman was accused of domestic battery following an incident at a Brimfield business. Shortly after 2 p.m. Sept. 28, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was summoned to Dollar General, 17511 U.S. Route 150, regarding someone refusing to leave. A female said someone hit her, according to a sheriff’s-office report.

Amy S. Palmarez, 44, of Otho, Iowa, was arrested and transported to the Peoria County Jail. The victim was an 18-year-old woman from Dakota City, Iowa.

• FARMINGTON – A license-plate check in Farmington revealed the vehicle’s driver had an outstanding Fulton County warrant.

Justin A. Dart, 42, of Farmington was behind the wheel of a 1999 Lincoln when a local police officer stopped him shortly before 7:15 p.m. Sept. 27 at Fulton and Main streets. A police report did not state for what offense Dart was wanted.

After he posted $350 in bond, Dart received a notice to appear in Fulton County Circuit Court in Lewistown.

• FARMINGTON – A Hanna City man was accused of multiple vehicle-related offenses following a traffic stop near Farmington.

Aaron J. Wood, 46, was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer traveling 46 mph in a 30-mph zone shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 100 block of W. Barlow Rd., according to a Farmington police report. After he was stopped, Wood provided the officer an Arizona state-identification card instead of a license.

Wood was charged with speeding and driving while his license is suspended. The vehicle was impounded.
• PRINCEVILLE – A combine caught fire while operating at a farm southeast of Princeville.


The fire was reported shortly before 6 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 17000 block of N. Illinois Route 91, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

A damage assessment was unavailable. Akron-Princeville firefighters also responded.

• PEORIA – No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle wreck that involved a Princeville woman. Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Sept. 26, Tammy D. Burton was driving a 2025 GMC truck that was turning east onto Alta Lane from northbound Illinois Route 91 when a 2024 GMC Genesis sport-utility vehicle rear-ended it, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.

John L. Abraham of Peoria was the other driver. He said he didn’t realize Burton had stopped to look for oncoming traffic. Both drivers declined medical attention. The report did not specify possible vehicle damage.

• EDWARDS – A Norwood man was accused of stealing a trailer from an Edwards-area man. Edwin R. Wilson, 46, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 26 in the 5700 block of W. Farmington Rd., a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.

The 47-year-old victim reported the theft shortly before 12:15 a.m. Sept. 23 from a property in the 6000 block of W. Pottstown Rd. The trailer was recovered in the 300 block of S. Steubenville St. in Peoria.

Wilson was charged with theft of between $500 and $10,000. He also was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and was wanted in Peoria and Tazewell counties.

• PRINCEVILLE – A vehicle accident east of Princeville resulted in a Metamora man being cited for failure to reduce speed. Trent B. Delinski was driving a westbound 2016 Toyota Highlander sport-utility vehicle shortly before 8 a.m. Sept. 24 in the 7200 block of W. Illinois Route 90 when the SUV rear-ended an empty trailer a 2015 Ford F-350 pickup truck was pulling, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

James A. Fry of Princeville was the other driver. He said he was stopped waiting for eastbound traffic to clear so he could turn left into a driveway. Delinski said his drink distracted him. The impact pushed the 37-foot trailer into the pickup and uncoupled them.

Delinski sustained minor abrasions on his forearms and refused medical treatment. Fry said he wasn’t injured. The pickup truck was drivable. The SUV sustained significant front-end damage and was towed.
• PEORIA – A school-bus driver from Brimfield was uninjured following a two-vehicle accident in Limestone Township. John Broyles was behind the wheel of a Limestone Community High School bus parked at 7 a.m. Sept. 23 in the 3300 block of W. Shoff Circle when a 2020 Toyota Paseo backed into its rear end, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The other driver was Louis M. Heuermann of Peoria.


Broyles’ son was the only passenger on the bus.

• KICKAPOO – At 8 p.m. Sept. 26, Hugo W. Schaub of Brimfield was driving a westbound 2017 Buick LaCrosse in the 11000 block of W. Dubois Rd. south of Kickapoo when the vehicle struck a deer. Schaub and a female passenger said they weren’t injured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle was drivable.

• ELMWOOD – Chief Aaron Bean reported the following Elmwood Police Department activity for September: one arrest, four stops, 16 warnings, 19 reports and one ordinance violation.

• FARMINGTON – Chief Chris Darsham reported the following Farmington Police Department activity for September: 204 business checks, 3,295 building checks, four crashes handled, one property crime, 30 traffic tickets issued, four ordinance violations, four crimes against people, 12 miscellaneous, 55 traffic stops, 11 arrests, 21 reports, 273 calls and 16 calls to assist other departments.

• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between Sept. 21-27: alarm, Dahinda; damage, Douglas.
