Stark County

11-14 – Rennel F. McChristian, 34, of Peoria hit a deer on Illinois Route 17 near the 500E intersection. No injuries were reported but the 2016 BMW sustained estimated damage over $1,500.
11-18 – Nasir A. Silas, 18, Bloomington, was cited for speeding 80 mph in a 55 zone and for driving while his license was suspended. His vehicle was towed and impounded.
11-20 – Michael S. Purdy Jr., 28, Castleton, was ticketed for stopping, standing, or parking in a prohibited area and driving on an expired registration.
11-20 -An identity/credit card theft complaint was reported to authorities at the Stark County Sheriff’s Office by a Toulon resident. The incident is under investigation.
11-21 – Misael C. Perez, 51, Bradford, reported a theft at his residence where an unknown individual stole the license plates off his pickup truck.
11-22 – Kenneth L. Meeker Sr., 64, Wyoming, was arrested following a traffic stop and charged with operation of an uninsured vehicle, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration, possession of adult-use cannabis in a vehicle, obstructing a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine. His 2011 Honda pickup truck was towed and impounded. Meeker was released with a notice to appear in court.

Officer dispatched:

11-17 – to the 700 block of NW 4th St. for a theft complaint. After investigating, this complaint was unfounded.
11-17 – Officer met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to file a complaint involving deceptive practices and identity theft.
11-18 – to the 800 block of NW 1st Ave. for a domestic-disturbance complaint. It was a verbal disagreement only.
11-18 – to the 500 block of NE 3rd St. for a domestic-disturbance complaint. It was a verbal disagreement only.
11-18 – to a residence on SW 4th St. for a welfare check. No contact was made.
11-18 – to the 700 block of NW 4th St. to attempt to assist a citizen suffering from an apparent mental-health crisis.
11-19 – to the 700 block of NW 2nd St. for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Officer determined the vehicle was visiting a neighbor.
11-19 – to the 300 block of Market Street for a trespassing complaint.
11-20 – to the 1000 block of SE 2nd St. for an activated panic alarm. It was a false alarm.
11-20 – to the 200 block of NW 1st Ave. for a scam/identity theft report.
11-20 – to assist Henry County with a disturbance on Hayes Road near 1900 East.
11-20 – to the 300 block of SE 7th Ave. for a verbal-disturbance complaint.
11-20 – to the 700 block of NW 4th St. to assist a citizen suffering from an apparent mental-health crisis.
11-21 – Officer was notified about a vehicle repossession taking place in the 100 block of SE 2nd St.
11-21 – to the 00 block of NE 6th St. to assist a citizen with a freedom of information act request.
11-21 – to the Galva-Atkinson blacktop several miles north of town for a car vs. deer crash.
11-21 – to assist Knox County with a hit-and-run accident that occurred just south of Galva on Illinois Route 17.
11-21 – to a residence on SE 3rd St. for a welfare check.
11-22 – twice to the 700 block of NW 4th St. to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental-health crisis.
11-22 – Officer met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to register them as a sex offender. The form was completed and emailed to Henry County for LEADS entry.
11-22 – to the NE 2nd St. railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted.
11-22 – twice to the 700 block of NW 4th St. to assist a citizen who appeared to be suffering from a mental-health crisis.
11-23 – to the 600 block of NW 5th St. for a loose-cat complaint.
11-23 – to the 100 block of SE 1st St. for a neglected-dog complaint.
11-23 – to the 700 block of NW 7th Ave. for a domestic disturbance involving juveniles.
11-23 – to the 400 block of NW 2nd St. for a fire. Officer advised resident it was not a burn day and the fire was put out.
