Stark County
2-25 – The Stark County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene of a rural Wyoming residential structure fire shortly before 9 a.m. The Wyoming Fire Department responded to the initial emergency call located west of Wyoming on Route 17. A 48-year-old resident reportedly was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment. The incident remains under investigation through the Illinois State Fire Marshall’s office.
2-27 – John R. Potter, 33, address unavailable, was arrested by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office following a traffic stop and extradited to the Bureau County Jail on an outstanding Peoria County warrant. He was charged with two counts of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
2-27 – The Stark County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a person with a gun in LaFayette. Upon further investigation two juveniles were located including a 13-year-old boy who presented a green colored air soft BB gun that reportedly resembled a Glock with a magazine. A parent of the minors arrived on scene and requested that the deputy take the gun and dispose of it.
3-1 – Terry D. Hand, 60, Toulon, was ticketed for illegal possession of adult-use cannabis by a driver. He was issued a court date to appear.
3-2 – Preston Davis, 19, no address available, was cited for speeding 79 mph in a 55 zone.
3-3 – Dillon P. Comb, 34, no address available, was cited for speeding 75 mph in a 55 zone.
3-3 – Logan L. Hendrickson, 44, no made available, was ticketed for driving without a valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle. His vehicle was impounded and he was issued a court date to appear.
3-4 – Thomas R. Stoecker Jr., 30, Wyoming, was cited for 75 mph in a 55 zone.
3-4 – A deer related vehicle accident occurred on Illinois Route 93 near the intersection of 850E. The driver involved was Jon D. Rediger, 33, of rural Toulon. No injuries were reported but damage was reported to the vehicle’s right-side fender.
3-5 – Three deer-related accidents were reported from various unidentified locations including driver’s whose addresses were not made immediately available including Ryker C. Jackson and Riley J. Werderman, both 18, and Aleijah J. Willis, 19. No additional information was included with the accident reports.
Galva Report
Officer dispatched:
3-2 – to the 200 block of SW 6th Ave. for a complaint involving a loose dog that was struck by a vehicle. The dog had minor injuries and was returned to its owners.
3-2 – While patrolling, officer noticed a freight train had stopped and was blocking all Galva crossings. The train began to move after about 10 minutes, allowing traffic to resume.
3-2 – to City Hall to speak to a subject about an ordinance warning letter they had received.
3-2 – Officer met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to follow up on a theft complaint previously reported.
3-2 – to the 100 block of NW 3rd Ave. for a civil standby during a child visitation.
3-2 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of S. Center Ave., Lacey Hall, 37, Altona, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance violation. She was released with a required court date.
3-2 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of S. Exchange St., Jennifer Willey, 43, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance violation. She was released with a required court date.
3-3 – While patrolling, officer noticed a freight train had stopped and was blocking all Galva crossings. BNSF was contacted and the train eventually moved along.
3-3 – Officer assisted Illinois DCFS with information about a local family.
3-3 – Officer met with a subject at the Galva Police Department to speak about obtaining an order of protection.
3-3 – to the east edge of town to watch for a reckless driver following several complaints. Officer located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a written warning for following too closely.
3-4 – along with the fire department, to the 500 block of SE Industrial Ave for a truck possibly on fire. Upon arrival, the truck had been unloaded, but there was a small fire on the ground. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire.
3-4 – to assist Henry County with a vehicle pursuit that came towards the Galva area a few times. The subject ultimately wrecked and was taken into custody northwest of Galva by Henry County.
3-4 – to assist the ambulance with medical calls on SW 4th St. and SE 1 st St.
3-5 – to the 100 block of N. Exchange St. for a complaint involving disorderly conduct and social media threats.
3-5 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 300 block of Main St., Robin Atkinson, 60, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a required court date.
3-5 – to the 400 block of NW 4th St. for a theft complaint.
3-5 – Officer was notified about a dog bite complaint by hospital staff. The incident actually occurred in rural Galva, so the information was relayed to Henry County.
3-6 – to meet with a subject at the police department to take a complaint involving identity theft.
3-6 – to City Hall to speak to a resident about an ordinance violation notice they had received.
3-6 – to Wiley Park for a disturbance involving a group of juveniles.
3-6 – to a physical disturbance in the 700 block of NW 1st Ave. The victim declined to prosecute.
3-6 – to assist a motorist in the 100 block of Morgan Road with a flat tire.
3-7 – to the 500 block of SW 3rd St. to serve a resident a written banning notice after a theft complaint a few days ago.
3-7 – along with the ambulance, to the 500 block of SE 2nd St. for an intoxicated patient. The subject refused transport.
3-8 – to the 900 block of SE 2nd St. to assist a motorist who apparently had a broken axle.
