Peoria County Report
3-18 – A Wyoming man arrested in Peoria was wanted in two counties on drugs-related charges.
Joshua T. Humes, 44, surrendered at gunpoint about 6:30 p.m. after he ran from the rear of a residence in the 2200 block of N. Flora Ave., according to Peoria police reports. Officers were there investigating a
theft.

Humes was wanted in Peoria and Tazewell counties for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. He also was wanted in Tazewell County for resisting police. He said he ran because he knew he had outstanding warrants.

After he complained of chest pain, Humes was transported to Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
He was checked and released, then taken to the Peoria County Jail. Humes was accused of resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

3-16 – A Bradford woman was uninjured following a single-vehicle accident south of Lawn Ridge.
Deborah J. Ingels was driving a southbound 2018 Jeep Renegade sport-utility vehicle shortly after 9:15 p.m. in the 21900 block of Illinois Route 40 when in whiteout conditions she lost sight of the roadway, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

Ingels drove toward two lights in the distance, which she assumed were from an oncoming vehicle.
Instead, they were on a house. The SUV left the pavement and became stuck in an east-side ditch. A tow truck retrieved the vehicle, which appeared undamaged.

Officer dispatched:
4-23 – Officer was flagged down about a threats complaint that happened over the weekend.
4-23 – to the 600 block of NE 1st Ave. for a property-line dispute.
4-23 – to a residence on NW 7th Ave. to assist Stark County Medic
with a lift-assist call.
4-23 – to the 300 block of SE 2nd Ave. for a low-speed vehicle inspection.
4-23 – to multiple residences to follow up on ordinance letters that were mailed about a month ago.
4-23 – to the west edge of town for a traffic complaint involving following too closely. Officer did not locate the suspect vehicle.
4-23 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a loud-noise complaint.
4-23 – to the east edge of town to watch for a reckless driver heading towards Galva. Officer located the vehicle, but did not observe any violations for a traffic stop.
4-24 – to the Galva Police Department to meet a resident who wanted to fill out a Freedom of Information Act request form for reports.
4-24 – Officer met with a resident at the Galva Police Department in reference to a dog bite incident that occurred last week.
4-24 – to the 800 block of NE 3rd Ave. for a loud-music complaint. Officer located a teenager and advised him of the complaint.
4-24 – to the 700 block of SE 1st St. to complete a low-speed vehicle inspection.
4-25 – to the 00 block of NE 4th St. for a harassment complaint involving a subject yelling profanities at neighbors.
4-25 – to meet with a resident at the Galva Police Department to update their quarterly sex offender registration. A completed form was emailed to Henry County.
4-26 – to City Hall to pick up a debit card that had been turned in there. It was returned to its owner.
4-26 – to the 100 block of SW 9th Ave. for a solicitor complaint. The subject was located and did not have a permit.
4-26 – Officer was notified about a controlled burn taking place in the 300 block of NE 9th St.
4-26 – to the 00 block of NE 4th St. for a civil standby to retrieve property.
4-27 – Officer was flagged down about a social media scam where an unknown person was attempting to obtain money.
4-27 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd Ave. for a child-custody dispute.
4-28 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 400 block of SE 2nd St., Nathaniel Lockett, 21, Kewanee, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a court date.
4-28 – to the 200 block of Market St. for an abandoned-dog complaint. A dog was located tied up at a closed business. As the owner was impounding it, the owner called and was able to pick the dog up and take it back home.
4-28 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a low-speed vehicle inspection.
4-28 – to the east edge of town to watch for a vehicle that was called in for reckless driving south of Kewanee. Officer was not able to locate.
4-29 – to the 700 block of NW 1st Ave. for an illegal-burning complaint. The resident was advised of the burn days, per city ordinance.
