• ELMWOOD – Sex toys and methamphetamine were found on the floor of an apparently burgled residence north of Elmwood, according to the victim.

The incident in the 900 block of E. Knox Rd. was reported at 11:15 a.m. March 20. According to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report, the 31-year-old victim was gone for about a week when he returned home and discovered a china cabinet was missing. It was filled with plates, dishes and silverware.

According to the victim, his front steps had been rebuilt, a new black screen had been added to his front porch and a trailer newly parked on the property was filled with garbage. He said he disposed of the sex toys and the meth. A door to the garage had been kicked in.

The victim mentioned two possible suspects, a 34-year-old Elmwood man and a 26-year-old Elmwood woman. Her address was on an envelope found aside the driveway, the report stated. No dollar estimate was given regarding the missing items.

• EDELSTEIN – A single-vehicle accident in Edelstein resulted in no apparent injuries.

At 7 p.m. March 16, Tasea E. Jurwich of Sparland was driving a northbound 2017 Chevrolet Equinox sport-utility vehicle in the 20800 block of Illinois Route 40 when the SUV slid on ice and became stuck in snow facing south in an east-side ditch, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

A passersby pulled the undamaged vehicle out of the snow, and Jurwich was able to drive away.

• FARMINGTON – A single-vehicle accident north of Farmington resulted in about $10,000 in damage to a property fence.

A Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy was summoned shortly before 10 a.m. March 15 to the accident site, in the 100 block of Knox Road 2300 East. He found an abandoned, heavily damaged 2008 Ford Taurus in a ditch. Tire tracks were about 100 feet long, and about 30 feet of fence were damaged.
While the deputy and the property owner, a 26-year-old Pekin man, were talking, another vehicle approached. It contained 19-year-old Rosemary E. Irvin of Yates City, who said she was driving the Taurus about one hour earlier when it hydroplaned off the pavement during a downpour and struck the fence.
Irvin said she had been on her way to work in Canton. She was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and for driving too fast for conditions. The Taurus was towed.

• WILLIAMSFIELD – A trio of boys attempted to steal a front-porch swing from a Williamsfield residence, according to authorities.

The incident in the 300 block of E. Gale St. happened shortly before 6 p.m. March 14, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. The 73-year-old victim’s doorbell camera recorded a black Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle pulling into the driveway and the three boys running onto the porch.

After one of the boys noticed a no-trespassing sign on a house window, they left. Nothing was reported missing. A deputy was unable to discern the vehicle’s license-plate number.

• FARMINGTON – A Fairview man loitering at a Farmington business was wanted in Fulton County for illegal use of a credit card.

A Farmington police officer found 57-year-old Timothy A. Overcash standing in the breezeway shortly after 1 a.m. March 13 at Circle K, 1006 E. Fort St. Overcash said he was waiting for the bank to open later in the morning, according to a police report.

The outstanding warrant was discovered during a subsequent investigation. Overcash received a notice to appear in Fulton County Circuit Court and was advised to abide by an unspecified order of protection issued in 2025.

• BARTONVILLE – A Trivoli woman required a hospital visit following a single-vehicle wreck west of Bartonville.

At 9:15 p.m. March 10, Alysha R. Pyatt was driving a 2015 BMW sedan north in the 3000 block of Cameron Lane when a small animal ran across the pavement, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
Pyatt attempted to avoid the animal by driving close to the shoulder, but the vehicle entered a ditch and continued onto Walters School Road, which veers from Cameron Lane to the north. The BMW then entered a west-side ditch and rolled onto its driver’s side.

An ambulance transported Pyatt to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, where she was evaluated for back pain. The vehicle sustained significant overall damage and was towed.

• YATES CITY – Equipment worth about $6,000 was reported missing from a shed on a property southwest of Yates City.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office was notified about 2:30 p.m. March 10 about the apparent burglary of a Honda hydraulic power skid unit and a battery. The property owner said the shed door was not locked, according to a sheriff’s-office report.

No security cameras were on the property, located in the 300 block of Knox Highway 22. The owner said he last visited the property about three weeks earlier and found nothing amiss. No suspect information was available.

• WILLIAMSFIELD – An 11-month-old boy required a hospital visit after the family dog bit him in the head.
The incident happened about 6 p.m. March 7 at a residence in the 100 block of N. Olive St., according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. The child had been on the floor while his 22-year-old mother was vacuuming.

When she stepped outside briefly to empty the vacuum canister, the dog – a Labrador-dalmatian mix – bit the child. He sustained a 2-inch cut on his forehead. An ambulance transported him to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. The dog was to be quarantined and evaluated.

• EDWARDS – At 8 p.m. March 17, a 17-year-old Elmwood girl was driving a westbound 2012 Chevrolet Cruze on Illinois Route 8 at Koerner Road east of Edwards when the vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the north. The girl was uninjured, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed.

• PRINCEVILLE – At 12:15 a.m. March 12, Brett C. Shumaker of Princeville was driving a northbound 2015 Jeep Compass on Princeville-Jubilee Road just south of Yess Road when the vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the west. Shumaker appeared to be uninjured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained a broken driver’s-side mirror and dents on the driver’s-side door and quarter panel but was drivable.

• FARMINGTON – Rowdy G. Eldridge, 21, of Farmington was arrested shortly before 10:45 p.m. March 21 and was being held for another law-enforcement agency for failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
