Peoria County releases May, June crime stats The Peoria Sheriff’s Department has released its Crime Statistics Report for the months of May and June for the eight Peoria County townships in The Weekly Post’s circulation area. The data reflect calls where the County was the primary responder.
• Brimfield village and township together had 1 assault, 1 identity theft, 1 battery with an arrest, 1 mob action with an arrest, 1 disorderly conduct, 1 driving with a suspended or revoked license with an arrest, 1 resisting/obstructing police with an arrest, 1 trespassing incident, 1 incident of vandalism/criminal damage to property, 4 traffic citations, and 2 accidents with no injuries.
• Elmwood city and township together had 1 domestic battery with an arrest, 1 drug possession with an arrest, 1 DUI with an arrest, 2 identity theft reports, 1 resisting/obstructing police with an arrest, and 1 traffic ticket.
• Jubilee had 3 battery incidents, 1 identity theft, 1 driving with a suspended or revoked license with an arrest.
• Kickapoo had 1 arson, 1 assault, 2 incidents of domestic battery with 1 arrest, 2 battery reports with 1 arrest, 8 thefts with 1 arrest, 2 burglaries of a non-residence, 1 resisting/ obstructing police with an arrest, 1 unlawful visitation interference, 4 incidents of vandalism/ criminal damage to property, 2 violations of Orders of Protection, 1 accident with an injury, 4 accidents with no injuries, and 2 traffic tickets.
• Millbrook had 4 traffic tickets.
• Princeville township and village together had 1 assault, 2 cases of domestic battery, 1 drug incident with an arrest, 1 unlawful visitation, 2 incidents of vandalism/criminal damage to property, and 2 accidents without injuries.
• Radnor had 1 domestic battery with an arrest, 1 battery/endangering a child and an arrest, 1 burglary of a residence, 1 trespassing incident with an arrest, 1 incident of vandalism/criminal damage to property with an arrest, 1 weapon-related incident with an arrest, and 8 traffic citations.
• Rosefield had 1 arson, 1 domestic battery report, 1 disorderly conduct, 1 trespassing incident, 1 theft, 1 accident with no injuries, and 3 traffic citations.

State Police June totals
METAMORA – Illinois State Police troopers in District 8, which includes five counties, answered 185 calls for service and initiated 1,427 incidents in the field during June, according to Commander Chad Peterson. In addition, enforcement figures totaled 433 citations and 837 written warnings, including 163 speeding citations, 19 DUI citations, 46 seatbelt citations, 12 child restraint citations, 285 written warnings for speeding, and 31 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 231 motorists, investigated 56 traffic crashes and conducted 153 motor carrier inspections, resulting in three unsafe commercial motor vehicles/drivers being placed out of service. During the month of June, 241 citations were issued for “Fatal Four” violations. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt and Distracted Driving.

Dahinda

Woman lost $7,000+ in scam

DAHINDA – A Dahinda woman lost over $7,000 in a scam when her computer crashed on Feb. 22 and a pop-up alert told her to call a company called “Archon Shield,” according to a Knox County sheriff’s report. She claimed she spoke to two people with foreign accents who were supposedly out of Canada. After an initial payment “for security,” she was told she already had security and the company claimed it put $6,000 in her bank account. The company then told her they overpaid and she would have to “pay them back by buying gift cards,” which she did with Target and Walmart gift cards.

• Joseph S. Frosig, 55, of Williamsfield struck a deer on May 19 along westbound Interstate 74 near mile marker 53.
• ELMWOOD – There was a Peoria County Sheriff’s report of “continued stalking” on June 29 in the 16000 block of Wolford Rd. of Elmwood.
• EDWARDS – Adam Aurelius Lofgren, 33, was charged with violation of order of protection on July 5.
• DAHINDA – A father and son who lived at the same address in Dahinda were both cited with charges on Feb. 22 after an altercation in which each claimed the other had started, according to a Knox County sheriff’s report. Both agree that at one point the father retrieved a pellet gun and pointed it at the son. Michael Stephen Riske, 64, was charged with domestic battery. He had abrasions on his knees and elbows. James Anthony Riske, 39, was charged with aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery of a senior citizen. He was taken to Cottage Hospital in Galesburg with cuts on his arms and legs, and swelling on the side of his face
