Ryan Murphy racked up 25 points Tuesday as Stark County (6-23, 3-4 Lincoln Trail Conference) topped ROWVA-Williamsfield, 58-53. “We played well and finished extremely strong,” Rebels Coach Dustin Browning said. “Big minutes from Mathew McCauley in the second quarter when we were having some foul trouble. First the good news. Both fifth-ranked Princeville (30-4) and Brimfield won Class 1A regional championships last week. The Lady Princes defeated Stark County last Friday, 47-25, to win the ROWVA Regional. Fire will delay restaurant

Second major Princeville fire in last seven months PRINCEVILLE -Despite a blaze that summoned fire departments from all over central Illinois, Country Feed & Supplies store will be open again very soon – albeit at a new location. The Village of Princeville will allow business owners Nathan and Lindsay Wineinger to set up a temporary storage container at a village-owned lot across from the store. Beyond that, Nathan Wineinger said they could be moving back into their building at 116 E. Spring St. within two weeks. Elmwood moves TIF accounts to new bank

BALLENTINE For The Weekly PostELMWOOD – The Elmwood City Council approved transferring its Tax Increment Financing (TIF) accounts from Farmers State Bank to Elmwood’s Morton Community Bank at its Feb. 4 meeting. Council members noted that Fred Paige, one of the developers of the new subdivision, is also an officerat Farmers State Bank. Transferring the TIF accounts to MortonCommunity Bank would avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest in having the TIF accounts with the developer. First came a late January visit by Academy Award winner Tami Lane, a Peoria native who spoke to Williamsfield fine arts students and brought with her an Oscar they could hold.
