Incidents & Accidents
Stark County

11-8 – Jayson A. Noe, 22, of McLeansboro, cited for driving with no vehicle insurance. He was issued a court date.
11-11 – A rural Wyoming resident reported a possible theft of a lawn mower.
11-11 – A possible domestic battery incident was reported to authorities in the 300 block of E. Main St. in Bradford.
11-11 – Kyra J. Balice, 21, of Kewanee was involved in a deer-related vehicle on Illinois Route 78 south of Duncan Road. No injuries were reported. Vehicle damage was estimated over $1,500. Balice was cited for driving an uninsured vehicle, driving with a suspended vehicle registration and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
11-12 – Zhiyong Yan, 51, Wildwood, Mo., cited for speeding 80 mph in a 55 zone.
11-14 – Chad L. Dean, 45, Galva, cited for speeding 83 mph in a 55 zone. He was issued a court date.
11-14 – Steven A. Spencer, 62, of LaFayette was involved in a deer-related vehicle accident on Illinois Route 78 and 1200N. No injuries were reported. Vehicle damage was estimated at over $1,500.
11-15 – Deceptive practice was the source of a complaint from a Bradford business owner. The incident involves possible fraudulent checks.
11-16 – A residential burglary was reported in the 400 block of Thomas Street in Toulon.

Peoria County report
11-13 – A Wyoming man appeared to avoid injury from a single-vehicle accident west of Chillicothe.
Ryan P. Dickman was driving a northbound 2007 Dodge shortly after 8:45 p.m. on Krause Road near Truitt Road when his vehicle approached a small bridge with guard rails, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. Dickman realized he was driving on the east-side shoulder, overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, which struck a guard rail. The vehicle sustained damage to its entire left side and was towed.

Knox County report
11-11 – A Cambridge woman sustained a minor injury in a single-vehicle accident northwest of La Fayette. Piper N. Lewis, 18, was driving a westbound 2009 Ford Focus about 3 p.m. on Knox Road 2800 North at Knox Road 2200 East when she drove over a gravel pile, lost control and overcorrected. The vehicle struck a power pole south of the roadway, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report.
Stark County Ambulance responded. The vehicle sustained disabling front-end damage and was towed. No citations were issued.
10-30 – No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle wreck south of Galva. Shortly before 5:30 p.m., 19-year-old Emma G. Evans of Toulon was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Spark that was stopped on Knox Highway 4 at Illinois Route 17 when a 2004 Chevy Impala rear-ended it, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report stated. Laci M. Johnston, 20, of Silvis was the other driver.
Johnston said her foot slipped off her vehicle’s brake. Both vehicles were drivable.

Galva Report
Officer dispatched:

11-11 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 800 block of N. Center Ave., Angelo D’Andrea, 87, Galva, was arrested for driving with a cancelled drivers license, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. His vehicle was towed and he was released with a court date.
11-11 – Officer was notified about a vehicle repossession that was occurring at Sentry Estates. The vehicle was recovered without incident.
11-11 – along with the fire department and Stark County Medic to a single-vehicle accident with minor injuries south and east of town. Officer stood by until Knox County arrived to handle the crash report.
11-12 – along with the fire department to the 500 block of NW 4th St. for a house filled with smoke.
11-12 – to a residence on NW 7th Ave. for an out-of-control juvenile complaint. The juvenile was uncooperative and made suicidal and homicidal comments to the officer. The juvenile was taken by ambulance for evaluation/treatment.
11-12 – to the 900 block of W. Division St. for a verbal domestic disturbance. It was determined to be a subject having a mental-health crisis.
11-12 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 100 block of SW 9th Ave., Jonathan Kohler, 27, Galesburg, was cited for suspended registration for mandatory insurance. He was released with a court date.
11-12 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a disturbance complaint. The offender appeared to be suffering from a mental-health crisis.
11-12 – to the 300 block of SW 3rd St. for several 911 open-line calls. The caller appeared to be suffering from a mental-health crisis and denied needing police, fire, or EMS.
11-12 – Kevin Shook, 54, Kewanee, cited for expired registration in the 200 block of S. Center Ave.
11-13 – along with the fire department and Stark County Medic to a single-vehicle accident with unknown injuries on Route 34, about 1 mile east of town. The Henry County Sheriff’s Department also responded and handled the crash report.
11-13 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2nd St., Billie Malesker, 49, Little York, was cited for registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a court date.
11-13 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 300 block of SE 2nd St., Jonathan Kohler, 27, Galesburg, was cited for suspended registration for mandatory insurance. He was released with a court date.
11-13 – to the 200 block of NW 4th Ave. for a group of juveniles fighting. The group was dispersed.
11-14 – to the 900 block of W, Division St. for a verbal domestic disturbance. It was a subject suffering a mental-health crisis.
11-14 – While patrolling, an officer located two solicitors going door-to-door. Officer verified they did not have a permit. As the result, Adam Phillips, 27, East Moline, and Hanna Breuwet, 26, Rock Island, were each issued an administrative warning ticket for soliciting without a permit.
11-14 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of SE 2nd St., Brandi York, 30, Galva, cited for registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a court date.
11-15 – to the 00 block of SE 3rd St. to assist a citizen who had a cat stuck under the hood of her vehicle.
11-15 – to the 100 block of NE 5th St. for a loose and vicious dog complaint. A neighbor’s dog had dug under its fence to escape. It was returned home.
11-15 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of NW 8th Ave, Jevante Powe, 35, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended and operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was later released with a court date.
11-15 – to the 1200 block of SE 2nd St. for a complaint involving possible tampering with an anhydrous tank.
11-15 – Krystle Miller, 39, Galesburg, cited for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd Street.
11-16 – to the 100 block of Exchange St. for several 911 calls that plotted there. A subject there was suffering from a mental-health crisis. The subject was transported by ambulance for treatment/evaluation.
11-16 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a disturbance complaint.
11-17 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a verbal disturbance.
