Incidents & Accidents
8-26 – A two-vehicle accident occurred at the Allendale Conservation Club. Driver Michael G. Wright, 61, Wyoming, reportedly was backing out of a camping area when he failed to see a vehicle behind him owned by Ronald K. Wright, 57, of East Peoria, and struck it. No injuries were reported, but damages were estimated at over $1,500.
8-20 – Alecia D. Dozard, 38, Bradford, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance.
8-21 – Nikole L. Walters, 36, Kewanee, was arrested for possession of meth under 5 grams, obstructing and or resisting arrest and illegal adult use cannabis in a vehicle. She was taken into custody and transported to the Stark County Jail. She was later released with a notice to appear in court. Also charged in the same traffic stop was a 16-year-old Peoria teen cited for possession of cannabis under the age of 21, obstructing and or resisting arrest, failure to dim vehicle headlights when required, driving without a valid driver’s license and illegal transportation of adult use cannabis in a vehicle. She was issued a court date to appear.
8-22 – Harassment and or threats were the source of a complaint reported from the block of West St. in Bradford.
8-24 – Beth A. Wheelhouse, 46, Toulon, was cited for driving while her license was suspended and or revoked, driving a vehicle with no insurance and driving on a suspended registration. She was also wanted on a Stark County warrant for failure to appear on the original charges for driving under the influence. She was taken into custody but posted $425 cash bond and was released with two separate court dates to appear.

8-21 – to the 200 block of SW 2nd Ave. to recover a set of keys found there. They were returned to their owner.
8-21 – to the 400 block of NW 9th St. for an audible alarm going off.
8-21 – to the Galva Park District for a vandalism complaint involving damage to the pavilions.
8-21 – Officer was notified that the railroad crossing gates were activated at the Exchange St. railroad tracks and no trains were present. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
8-21 – to a residence on NW 4th Ave. for a welfare check after a subject sent concerning text messages.
8-21 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
8-22 – As the result of a traffic stop on North Center Ave at James B Young Road, Mikayla Nelson, 27, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration is suspended for no insurance. She was released with a rcourt date.
8-22 – to the 800 block of NW 7th Ave. for a 911 hang-up complaint. It was determined to be a misdial.
8-22 – to the 400 block of NW 9th St. for an audible alarm going off. Officer contacted the homeowner, who responded and ultimately found a faulty smoke detector that was going off. The batteries were removed.
8-22 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of S. Center Ave., Nicholas Rudd-Wild, 25, N. Henderson, was arrested for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle and not having valid registration. He also was arrested on a Galesburg Police Department warrant for no valid registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was taken to the Henry County Jail.
8-23 – to check on an abandoned vehicle just north of town.
8-23 – to the 300 block of SW 2nd Ave. for a loose-dog complaint. Officer was transporting dog to impound it, when owner contacted police. The dog was returned.
8-23 – to the 00 block of NW 4th Ave. for a complaint involving animal neglect. A dog was tied outside without food or water in extreme heat. The owner arrived home within five minutes and took dog back inside. The dog did not appear to be in any distress.
8-23 – to the 600 block of SW 4th St. for a property line dispute.
8-23 – to the NE 6th Ave. railroad tracks for a crossing-arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
8-23 – to the 700 block of NW 2nd St. for a 911 open-line complaint. It was determined to be a pocket dial.
8-23 – to the 00 block of SE 4th St. for a suspicious car complaint. Officer determined it was a resident who parked there due to fresh oil and road work.
8-23 – to the 1200 block of NW 3rd Ave. for a 911 hang-up call. It was determined to be a complaint involving a suspicious vehicle. A juvenile was told to move along.
8-23 – to the 300 block of SW 3rd St. for a complaint of a subject yelling and nobody else around. The subject appeared to be having a mental health crisis.
8-24 – to the 400 block of E. Division S. for a civil property dispute.
8-24 – to the 600 block of SE 2nd St. for a complaint involving identity theft.
8-24 – Officer was flagged down to assist a citizen in the 200 block of Morgan Rd.
8-24 – to the Lincoln House for a 911 open-line call. It was determined to be a medical emergency. An ambulance was requested.
8-25 – to the 500 block of SE 2nd St. for a complaint involving a transient digging in the dumpster. The subject was given a ride toward Kewanee.
8-25 – to the Exchange St. railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
8-25 – to the 200 block of Morgan Rd. for a complaint involving a vehicle that had been idling and unattended for several hours. The car was turned off when the officer arrived.
8-25 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of SE 2nd St., Sean Hobson, 44, Princeton, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration was suspended for no insurance and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
8-26 – to the 600 block of SE 2nd St. for a possible prowler complaint. This report was unfounded.
8-26 – Officer was flagged down about a loose dog in the 100 block of NE 1st St.
8-26 – to the 600 block of NE 1st Ave. for an illegal-burning complaint. The resident put the fire out.
8-26 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. for a complaint involving an abandoned vehicle.
8-27 – to the 500 block of SE 2nd St. for a harassment complaint.
8-27 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a reckless driving complaint.
8-27 – to a residence on Swank Street for a complaint involving a juvenile communicating online with an unknown subject from out-of-state. Officer tried to speak to subjects about internet safety.
8-21 – Ramiro Arteaga, 47, Monmouth, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St.
8-23 – LuAnn Hammons, 66, Galva, was issued citations for operating an uninsured vehicle and failure to use a turn signal in the 300 block of SW 7th St.
8-24 – Lee McClay, 38, Altona, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 200 block of SE 2nd St.
8-24 – Todd Kaiser, 54, Woodhull, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 200 block of SE 2nd St.
