Incidents & Accidents
8-19 – A deer-related vehicle accident occurred on N. Modena Rd. north of the 1400N intersection. The driver was Tanner R. Price, 18, of Toulon. No injuries reported, but the vehicle had over $1,500 in damage.
8-5 – A 17-year-old Kewanee teen was cited for driving with no insurance.
8-10 – Conner W. Briggs, 23, Tremont, was ticketed for driving with no insurance. He was issued a date to appear in court.
8-10 – Samantha J. Kirtley, 18, Kewanee, was cited for illegal transportation of adult-use cannabis in a vehicle. She was released with a notice to appear. Also cited in the same traffic stop was Hannah E. Soberinsky, 18, of Peoria, ticketed for speeding 69 mph in a 55 zone.
8-12 – Christopher D. Turner, 28, Toulon, was ticketed for disobeying a stop sign and for driving on expired registration.
8-13 – A possible domestic complaint was investigated in the 600 block of N. Main St. in Wyoming.
8-14 – A complaint involving a possible violation involving an order of protection was received from a rural Bradford resident.
8-15 – Dustin W. Bowman, 42, Galva, was ticketed for driving while license was suspended, driving without vehicle insurance and for driving a vehicle on expired registration.
8-15 – Joshua A. Gumm, 37, Peoria, was arrested for illegal transportation of adult-use cannabis and cited for failure to wear a seat belt. He posted $250 cash bond and was released with a court date to appear.
8-15 – Jorge L. Quintero, 19, Peoria, was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license. He posted $250 cash bond and was released with a court date to appear.
8-16 – Tate D. Nimrick, 26, Galva, was cited for driving with no insurance. He was issued a court date.
8-16 – A window-peeking complaint was reported to authorities from a resident in the 200 block of N. Peoria St. in Bradford.
8-19 – Taylor K. Edgework, 22, Moline, was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and for speeding 72 mph in a 55 zone. She was issued a notice to appear.
8-20 – Alecia D. Dozard, 38, Bradford, was ticketed for driving without vehicle insurance. She was released with a notice to appear.

Galva Report
Officer dispatched:

8-14 – to the old Galva viaduct west of town to check on a suspicious vehicle parked there. Several teenagers were located and told to move along.
8-14 – to the 100 block of Main St. for an aggressive-dog complaint. Owners were located, arrived and put their pit bull away.
8-14 – to the 500 block of SW 3rd St. for a 9-1-1 call. It was determined the caller did not have an emergency.
8-14 – assist Henry County serve an order of protection and complete a civil standby on SE 7th Ave.
8-15 – to the 800 block of NE 1st Ave. for a loose-dog complaint. Officer left a voicemail for owner due to dog not liking officer.
8-15 – to the 500 block of NW 4th St. for a property-line dispute.
8-15 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. to deliver a message to a resident.
8-15 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of SE 4th Ave., Luis Olivas, 21, Mercedes, Texas, was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was released with a court date.
8-16 – Officer met with personnel from the Galva Armory to update their key-holder information in the case of an emergency.
8-16 – Officer mailed eight ordinance letters in reference to residents needing to clean up their properties.
8-17 – to a residence on West Division Street for a welfare check after a subject sent several disturbing text messages to family members.
8-17 – to the 200 block of NE 7th St. for a scam report.
8-17 – to assist Henry County with a single-vehicle accident involving a loaded semi-truck blowing a tire and going off the roadway west of town along Route 34.
8-17 – along with the fire department and Stark County Medic, to a car-vs.-motorcycle accident with injury at the intersection of S. Center Ave. and SE 2nd St. As the result, Mohamed Chelihi, 42, Rock Island, was issued citations for failure to yield the right-of-way at a stop intersection and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The motorcyclist was transported to a Peoria area hospital with facial injuries.
8-18 – to the south edge of Galva to check on two transients walking to California.
8-18 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. to remove an unwanted subject from the property. The subject was issued a written banning notice.
8-18 – to a residence on W. Division Street for welfare check.
8-18 – along with the fire department, to a possible building on fire just east of town along Route 34. It was determined to be an illegal burn involving tires. Charges are pending through Henry County.
8-18 – Officer met with subjects at the Galva Police Department to discuss options for a mentally ill family member.
8-19 – to the 200 block of NW 1st Ave. to investigate a suspicious noise. Nothing was found.
8-19 – Officer spoke to a subject in the 100 block of NE 1st St. about blowing grass clippings into the roadway. The subject agreed to clean it up.
8-19 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 500 block of S. Center Ave, Allen Shoen, 32, Galva, was arrested for unlawful display of registration not authorized for use on such vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle, and operating a vehicle with expired registration. He was released with a required court date.
8-19 – Officer spoke to a subject by telephone about a child custody exchange that needed to take place.
8-19 – Officer was flagged down by several juveniles in reference to receiving inappropriate messages through social media.
8-19 – to the Lincoln House for a welfare check. While there, officer was notified that a subject had a warrant. As the result, Bryan Folker, 63, was arrested on a Warren County warrant for driving while license revoked. He was released with a required court date.
8-19 – While patrolling just before midnight, officer had two young juveniles run away from him. Officer caught up to the subjects near Wiley Park and spoke to a parent.
8-20 – to assist Henry County with a disabled vehicle that was blocking the roadway just west of town on Route 34.
8-20 – to the 300 block of Front St. for a disturbance complaint. As the result, Joseph Swanson, 44, Altona, was arrested on a Galesburg Police Department warrant for two counts of aggravated battery. He was taken to the Henry County Jail.
8-14 – James Hoyle, 79, Altona, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 1000 block of SW 2nd St.
8-19 – Johnny Grigsby, 75, Ethel, Mo., was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St.
8-19 – Tiffany Carpenter, 34, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St.
8-19 – Ryan Ward, 26, Chandler, Ariz., was issued a citation for speeding 26 to 35 mph over the posted speed limit in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St.
