Kewanee man killed in
Illinois Route 78 crash
A 34-year-old man from Kewanee was traveling south on Illinois Route 78 when his truck crossed the center line at W. White Rd. and struck another truck traveling northbound before rolling onto its roof, according to an Illinois State Police report.
David Carman was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Rachael M. Stead, 32, of Peoria was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The other driver, David P. Murray, 58, of East Peoria, was also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Route 78 was closed from Lorrence Road (Peoria County) to Duncan Road (Stark County) for about six hours due to the accident.

• EDWARDS – Darrell W.L. Harper, 57, of Edwards was charged on April 8 with domestic battery.
• ELMWOOD – John Miles Davis, 39, of Elmwood was charged on April 7 with aggravated domestic battery, unlawful restraint, aggravated assault/use of a deadly weapon, two counts of endangering the life or health of a child and no FOID card.
• FARMINGTON – Four catalytic converters were stolen from the Bus Barn in the 24000 block of W. Farmington Rd. sometime between 4 p.m. on April 5 and 6 a.m. on April 6, according to a Farmington police report. Each catalytic converter is worth approximately $2,200.
• FARMINGTON – After being pulled over by Farmington police for speeding on April 7, Tabitha Nolan, 35, of Peoria was also charged for driving on a suspended driver’s license, according to a Farmington report. Her vehicle was impounded.
• FARMINGTON – After failing to stop at the intersection of West Fort and South Main streets on April 8, Alexandria Logsdon, 25, of Bushnell was charged with possession of adult use cannabis in a motor vehicle, according to a Farmington report. She was issued two traffic violations. Her vehicle was impounded.
