Stark County
1-14 – A two-vehicle accident occurred on Illinois Route 78 approximately one-half mile south of 400N. According to the accident report, driver Henry N. Chirinos Bejarano, 36, of Peoria, was traveling north when he attempted to pass a semi-truck and struck a southbound vehicle head-on being driven by Logan T. Corzatt, 18, of Kewanee.
Both drivers and three passengers were transported by Stark County Ambulance to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria for treatment.
Chirinos was ticketed for passing in a no-passing zone.
1-17 – Craig M. Watson, 41, of Goodfield, was ticketed for speeding 74 mph in a 55 zone.
1-19 – Baillie A. Meacham, 33, of Princeville, was cited for driving on a suspended registration and for possession of adult-use cannabis in a vehicle.

Officer dispatched:
1-13 – to the 300 block of SE 8th Ave. for a complaint involving an attempted scam.
1-13 – to the 400 block of NW 4th St. for a 911 hang-up complaint. It was determined to be a misdial.
1-14 – to the 500 block of SW 6th Ave for a suspicious person complaint. Officer checked the area but was not able to locate anyone.
1-14 – to meet with a subject at the Galva Police Department in reference to a fraud, forgery complaint.
1-14 – to the 400 block of NW 4th St. for a 911 hang-up complaint. It was determined to be a misdial.
1-14 – to the 300 block of Front St. for a child-custody dispute.
1-14 – to the 400 block of NE 9th St. for a 911 hang-up complaint. The call plotted at a tower. No other calls were received. Officers was unable to locate anyone needing assistance.
1-15 – to the north edge of Galva for an abandoned-vehicle complaint on private property. Officer located a note advising the vehicle had mechanical issues and would be removed.
1-15 – to speak with a subject by telephone to gather additional information regarding a runaway juvenile.
1-16 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of N. Center Ave., Ryan Johnson, 49, of Dunlap, was arrested for not having a valid drivers license (expired more than three years) and not having valid registration (expired more than one year). He was released with a court date.
1-17 – to the 400 block of SW 3rd St. for a suspicious person complaint. Officer was not able to locate the subject.
1-17 – to the 100 block of SW 10th Ave. for a criminal damage to vehicle complaint. A vehicle window reportedly was shot with a BB gun.
1-17 – to the 200 block of Morgan Road to investigate a suspicious vehicle. The subject was waiting for somebody.
1-17 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1300 block of SE 2nd St., Cameron Ralstin, 26, of Toulon, was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was taken to the Galva Police Department for processing and then released with a required court date.
1-17 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of SE 5th Ave., Xavior Calvin, 26, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when out-of-state registration suspended. He was released with a required court date.
1-18 – to a two-vehicle accident with damage only in the 700 block of NW 3rd Ave. A crash report was completed.
1-18 – to the 300 block of SE 3rd St. for a loud-music complaint. The offender was advised to turn it down.
1-18 – to the 500-600 block of NW 1st Ave. for a possible fireworks complaint. Officer was not able to locate anyone.
1-18 – along with the fire department to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for an activated fire alarm.
1-18 – to the 300 block of Front St. to remove an unruly and unwanted patron. As the officer arrived, the suspect fled at a high rate of speed in a vehicle. Officer pursued and the driver bailed out and ran into a house in the 300 block of SE 1st Ave.
Multiple officers from the Henry and Stark county sheriff departments and Galva arrived to assist.
As the result, George Johnson, 26, Kewanee, was arrested for criminal damage to property, resisting and/or obstructing a police officer, fleeing, or attempting to elude a police officer, driving while license suspended and battery. He was taken to the Henry County jail.
1-19 – along with the fire department to the 900 block of W. Division St. for an activated fire alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
1-19 – to meet with a resident at the Galva Police Department to complete fingerprinting for an employment opportunity.
1-19 – to the 700 block of NW 1st Ave. for a burning complaint.
1-19 – to the 100 block of SE 6th Ave. for a disturbance complaint.
