BRIMFIELD – Just recently finished with construction of its new building, Brimfield Family Dentistry located at 232 E. Knoxville St. in Brimfield is already expanding.
The original building, whose renovation was completed last April, has a new addition to the west. The expectation is that it will be finished in March or April.
Dr. Clint Martin said this had been planned from the get-go.
“Our goal has always been to function with two dentists as soon as the practice would support it because we are then able to extend our hours and continue to serve patients if one of us is away from the office,” Martin said.
A second dentist, Dr. Alex Funk, joined the practice in August. Martin said Funk brings not only a full spectrum of dental care with him, but also specializes in sleep disordered breathing in children.
Funk’s arrival, though, required more space since, according to Martin, “the original build was really only designed for one dentist at full capacity.”
The addition will include more office space and four additional treatment rooms.
Martin added that, “One of the new rooms is designed to be a calming space, particularly suited for folks with dental anxiety or past trauma.”
For now, there won’t be any additional staff, but Martin says that’s in the plan.
Martin also expressed gratitude for people who have supported Brimfield Family Dentistry.
“This has truly been a grassroots endeavor and we feel blessed to be able to do what we do every day,” he said.
