June 20 th from 10 – 2 the village of Bishop Hill will be filled with excitement and music
during the annual Midsommar Festivities. We’ll have a variety of craft, activities and
booths in the village park. Village businesses will have yard games set up for visitors to
play during the day. The Creative Commons will have a chainsaw artist performing.
This is a free performance. Just bring a lawn chair and be ready to have fun! Sponsored

2 pm – Maypole decorating, parade to the colony school, dancing and light
refreshments.
Bishop Hill is a former Swedish colony who brought Swedish Midsommar customs to
the area. Midsommar has been celebrated in Sweden for over 500 years and has roots
tracing back to the medieval era.
