Princeville boys win LTC XC title

The victory came by the tightest of margins as the 17th-ranked Princes edged Annawan-Wethersfield, 30-31. Four Princeville runners finished in the top 10 to earn all-conference honors, led by senior Tucker Sennett, who was third in 16:37. The other all-LTC runners were junior Taylor Hess (5th, 16:54), sophomore Jacob Bosch (6th, 17:16) and freshman Hunter Keyster (7th, 17:23). Williamsfield hires third treasurer in a year

Bouchez, also a member of the Williamsfield School Board, replaces Linda Baker. She resigned from the job in September after eight months in the position. Baker was hired Jan. 6 to replace longtime Treasurer Mary Rice, who resigned three days earlier. Rice and Board President Robert Johnson differ regarding the circumstances. Yields have so far been generally good, with most of the state’s corn and soybean crop rated good or excellent. But as is often the case in agriculture, there’s always something to foul up a perfect fall. Farris, 45, of Cincinnati was booked into the Peoria County Jail shortly before 10 p.m. He is accused of aggravated vehicle hijacking, kidnapping and unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle. A battle over wind turbines is brewing

When hundreds of people sit in a steamy hall for more than three hours, you know the subject matter is compelling. Or at least you know the crowd feels strongly about the subject. So it was on Sept. 17 in Brimfield’s American Legion hall, where more than 250 gathered for a presentation on the negative aspects of wind turbines. The event was organized by Dan Heinz of Kickapoo, who has spearheaded a grassroots group called No To Peoria County Windmills.
