Stark County
12-23 – A two-vehicle accident occurred on Route 40 approximately a half of a mile south of 800N. The drivers involved were Jessie D. Stone, 36, Williamsfield, and Eric L. Baker, 39, of Walnut. No injuries were reported and no tickets were issued.
1-2 – Michael J. Harmon, 48, Princeville, was ticketed for speeding 68 mph in a 55 zone and for driving without vehicle insurance. He was released with a notice to appear in court.
1-4 – Brian M. Shoen, 38, Galesburg, was arrested by Stark County authorities on a Henry County warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. His cash bond was set at $2,000. Unable to post bond, he was extradited by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department to the Henry County Jail.
1-4 – Kimberly K. Huggins, 38, Kewanee, was charged with driving while her license was suspended and speeding 52 mph in a 45 zone. She was released with a court date to appear.
1-6 – Thomas Gray, no address listed, reported an incident of criminal damage to his property.
1-7 – Brooklyn R. Stabler, 20, Stoughton, was cited for speeding 68 mph in a 55 mph zone, driving with no insurance and illegal transportation of cannabis. She was released with a notice to appear.
1-7 – Carolos F. Baltazar-Aguirre, 22, Peoria, was cited for speeding 72 mph in a 55 zone and for driving without vehicle insurance. He was issued a notice to appear in court.

Galva Report
Officer dispatched:

1-2 – Officer was notified that a Galva resident had contacted a family member and advised they intended to overdose using heroin. Officer checked several locations in Galva but was not able to locate the subject. She was found in Kewanee.
1-2 – to the 600 block of SE Industrial Ave. for a complaint involving cows out near the roadway. Officer contacted the owner and assisted them with getting the cows back into a pasture.
1-2 – to the 100 block of SE 3rd St. to check for a suspicious person who had reportedly been screaming. Officer unable to locate anyone.
1-3 – to the 500 block of SE 4th St. for a complaint involving threats through Facebook.
1-3 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a single-vehicle accidentwith damage only. A vehicle had struck a wooden fence and left the scene without contacting police.
1-3 – Officer was contacted by a subject who lives out of state to attempt to locate her daughter for a welfare check. Officer checked several locations and was not able to locate subject in question.
1-4 – to an accident where a semi-truck went through the railroad gates on Exchange Street as they were coming down and struck the gate, destroying it, before driving away. As the result, Kelly Atchison, 60, Alpha, was cited for disobeying a railroad crossing device and failure to report accident to police authority. He was released with a required court date.
1-4 – Officer was notified that a railroad crossing gate had been struck by an unknown vehicle at the Exchange Street crossing. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
1-6 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. to assist a citizen who appeared to be having a mental health crisis.
1-6 – Officer was notified that a set of keys had been turned in to the Kewanee Police Department that had a key tag marked with a Galva business. A deputy brought the keys to Galva and turned them in to the lost and found.
1-6 – to check a large brush fire just north of town. It was determined to be a controlled and supervised fire.
1-6 – to the 500 block of SE 4th St. after the resident reported seeing someone walking through their yard late at night. Officer was not able to locate the subject.
1-7 – to the 300 block of NW 1st St. for a report of a natural gas odor. The fire department and Ameren were also contacted to respond.
1-7 – A traffic stop was conducted in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St. for a moving and equipment violation. As the officer was writing a warning notice, the Galva K9 completed a free air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive indication. The occupants and vehicle were searched, which resulted in the passenger being placed under arrest. Angelica Taylor-Bozarth, 21, Wyanet, was arrested for possession of heroin, unlawful use of weapons, possession of hypodermic syringes and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Henry Co jail and during a strip search there, a bag was discovered hidden on her person. The contents of the bag were tested and returned with a positive presence of fentanyl.
1-8 – Karole Bolin Tedin, 57, Altona, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 200 block of SE 1st Ave.
1-8 – Trinity O. Donnell, 18, Galva, was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign in the 200 block of NW 2nd St.

Peoria County report
12-26 – An Edelstein woman was uninjured following a single-vehicle accident southwest of Chillicothe.
Kelsey A. Wakeland was driving a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 26 in the 15100 block of N. Old Galena Rd. when the northbound vehicle hit black ice and went off the roadway, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
The vehicle struck a mailbox and continued into a ditch about 50 feet north. The driver’s-side front bumper was damaged and undercarriage pieces were broken.
