Stark County

1-13 – Stark County Sheriff’s Office was notified a 25-year-old man was hit in the leg by a moving vehicle while trying to help a stranded motorist stuck in a ditch 5 miles south of Bradford. The unidentified vehicle driver left the scene. The accident is under investigation.

1-13 – Authorities responded to a possible domestic battery and criminal damage to property incident in the 200 block of N. Olive St. in Toulon. Incident is under investigation.

1-17 – Robert C. Boatman Jr., Toulon, reported theft of an ATV discovered missing from his property in the 200 block of Greenwood St.

1-17 – A harassment/threat complaint was reported to authorities by a rural Bradford resident. Incident is under investigation.

1-18 – A Castleton resident reported suspected fraud involving an identity theft. Incident is under investigation.

1-21 – Charles D. Yocum III, 21, of Galva, cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and illegal transportation of adult-use cannabis in a vehicle.

Peoria County Report
1-18 – Andrew J. Eagelston, 18, of Wyoming arrested at 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 18 and accused of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

Galva Report
Officer dispatched:

1-14 – A rural-Kewanee man was accused of drunk driving after his vehicle crashed in snow south of Galva. Trent M. Doss, 35, was driving a southbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado shortly before 5:30 p.m. Jan. 14 in the 2900 block of Illinois Route 17 when the truck struck a snowbank and overturned, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report.
Blowing and drifting snow in the lane was as deep as four feet, the report stated. In addition to driving under the influence of alcohol, Doss was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol. He is to appear Feb. 14 in Knox County Circuit Court in Galesburg. His vehicle was towed.

1-15 – to the 100 block of NE 9th St. to assist a parole agent from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

1-15 – On patrol, an officer located a disabled vehicle near the Chester Street railroad crossing. Tarleton’s got a tire fixed so the subject could move from the roadway.

1-15 – to the 100 block of NE 7th St. to deliver a message for a business in Galesburg.

1-15 – On patrol, an officer located a semi tractor trailer broke down in the 500 block of W. Division St.

1-16 – Officer spoke to a resident by telephone about a civil issue involving a subject failing to pay for snow removal.

1-16 – to the 700 block of W. Division St. for a disabled semi tractor trailer blocking traffic. Driver Leon James, 65, of Oklahoma City, was arrested for improper operation of a commercial vehicle since he did not have a CDL license. The semi was moved to private property. He was released with a court date.

1-16 – to the 300 block of SW 2nd Ave. to meet with a complainant who found a debit card on the ground. Officer has been attempting to contact the owner to return the card.

1-16 – On patrol, an officer located a loose dog in the 800 block of NE 3rd Ave. Owner retrieved the dog.

1-16 – along with the Galva Fire Department and Stark County Medic to a two-vehicle accident in the 100 block of N. Center Ave.

1-17 – to the intersection of NW 5th St. and NW 5th Ave. for a pickup truck vs. power pole accident. There was no damage or injuries reported.

1-17 – to the 200 block of NE 3rd St. for a complaint involving criminal damage to vehicle involving a cut tire. It appeared to be weather related and not a criminal act.

1-18 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. to retrieve a wallet dropped in a business parking lot. The wallet was returned to the owner.

1-18 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. for a water line that ruptured inside a business. An employee from the water department shut the water off for repairs.

1-19 – On patrol, an officer located a vehicle in a snow pile along the roadway in the 00 block of NE 2nd St. Officer and a passing motorist, pushed the vehicle onto the road.

1-19 – to the 900 block of NW 6th St. for a motorist assist for a stuck vehicle. Tarleton’s got the vehicle back on its way.

1-19 – to a residence on SW 4th St. for a subject who cut themselves and was having a mental-health crisis. They were taken by ambulance for treatment/evaluation.

1-20 – to the 600 block of SW 4th St. for a loose-cat complaint. Officer was not able to locate it.

1-20 – to assist Henry County with a civil paper service in the 00 block of SW 4th St.

1-21 – to 300 Front St. to assist Henry County with his K9 partner.

1-21 – to a residence on SW 4th St. for a welfare check on a subject having a mental-health crisis.

1-21 – to the 800 block of NW 5th Ave. for an open-door complaint. The door was secured.

1-21 – to a residence on SE 3rd Ave. for a suicidal juvenile who was out-of-control. The minor was transported by ambulance for treatment / evaluation.
