Stark County
1-12 – A single-vehicle accident occurred on Illinois Route 40. Driver David E. Criner, of Chicago, was traveling south towing a travel trailer when he lost control of his 2017 Chevrolet Colorado after hitting a patch of ice. Criner’s vehicle skidded off the road and jack-knifed before coming to rest in the ditch. No injuries were reported but damage was estimated at over $1,500 and both vehicles were towed.
1-17 – Travers L. Jenkins, 49, Houston, Texas, was ticketed for failure to wear a seat belt.
1-19 – Trisha L. Bauman, 38, Morton, was ticketed for speeding 78 mph in a 55 zone.
1-20 – Treyson J. Bowen, 18, Wyoming, was cited for speeding 75 mph in a 55 zone.
1-20 – A deer-related vehicle accident occurred on Illinois Route 78 between 00N and 100N. The driver involved was Paul W. Jones, 40, of Laura. No injuries were reported but the estimated damage to the vehicle topped $1,500.
1-24 – Kyra J. Balice, 21, Kewanee, was cited for speeding 71 mph in a 55 zone.
1-24 – James E. Clay Jr., East Moline, was cited for speeding 70 mph in a 55 zone.
1-24 – Kedron R. Knobloch, 21, Wolcott, was cited for speeding 70 mph in a 55 zone.
1-26 – Lee A. Gosch, 57, Sheffield, was cited for speeding 80 mph in a 55 zone. He was issued a court date to appear.
1-26 – Marcedes M. Williams, 18, Kewanee, was cited for speeding 75 mph in a 45 zone and for driving without vehicle insurance. She was issued a court date to appear.
Knox County report
1-16 – A traffic stop in Wataga resulted in a Wyoming man being arrested for multiple offenses.
James W. Schupp, 37, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle about 5 p.m. when it failed to come to a complete stop at Willard Street and Depot Road, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. Schupp also didn’t use a turn signal.
A check revealed Schupp was wanted in Stark County for failure to appear in court regarding traffic offenses. Schupp also was accused of operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration and operating an uninsured vehicle. Schupp was transported to the Knox County Jail in Galesburg.

1-21 – along with the Galva Fire Department and ambulance to the 300 block of Front St. for a reported structure fire. It was determined to be a faulty microwave.
1-22 – to the 1000 block of N. Center Ave. for a two-vehicle accident with damage only. A crash report was completed.
1-22 – to meet with a subject who wanted to get a vehicle out of the impound lot. The vehicle was released.
1-22 – to a residence on NE 4th St. in reference to inappropriate text messages that were received.
1-23 – to the 900 block of N. Center Ave. for a complaint of telephone threats .
1-23 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. to check on a suspicious vehicle complaint. The subject was waiting for a friend.
1-23 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of S. Center Ave., Christopher Wehr, 39, Taft, Calif., was arrested for not having a valid drivers license and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
1-24 – to the 200 block of S. Exchange St. for an abandoned vehicle.
1-24 – While patrolling, officer noticed pieces of metal in the roadway in the 1000 block of North Center Ave. The items were moved from the roadway.
1-24 – to the 300 block of NW 4th Ave. to assist a citizen.
1-24 – to the 00 block of NE 5th St. for a physical disturbance.
1-25 – to the 700 block of NW 4th St. to try to assist a subject having a mental-health crisis.
1-25 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. to assist a motorist whose vehicle had stalled. The vehicle was pushed off the roadway.
1-25 – Cole Marty, 37, Galesburg, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St.
1-25 – Michelle Corsaro, 41, Monmouth, was issued a citation for speeding in the 900 block of SE 2nd St.
1-25 – Idalia Duran, 42, Kewanee, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St.
1-26 – to the 100 block of NW 2nd Ave. for a child-custody dispute.
1-26 – to the 100 block of Market Street to assist a motorist.
1-26 – Paul Knobloch, 59, Wyoming, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St.
