Stark County
9-29 – A harassment/threat complaint was received from a resident in the 800 block of West Main St. in Toulon.
9-30 – Carma J. Dial, 70, Sterling, was cited for speeding 81 mph in a 55 zone.
10-1 – A theft complaint was received from a Wyoming business in the 100 block of S. Seventh St. The incident remains under investigation.
10-2 – Garrett B. Pendleton, 40, Arnold, Mo. was cited for speeding 79 mph in a 55 zone.
10-2 – Joshua M. Belville, 34, Wyoming, was cited for speeding 72 mph in a 55 zone and for driving without vehicle insurance.
10-5 – Maricela Herrera – Driving 21-25 mph above limit.
10-5 – Kyle J. Thruman – Speeding 26-34 mph over limit.

Peoria County Report
9-17 – A Toulon-area man was arrested in Bartonville for multiple crimes, including retail theft and illegal-drugs possession.
Brant R. Knowles Jr., 23, initially was suspected of stealing at least two bottles of deodorant and a tote bag about 9 p.m. Sept. 15 from Dollar General, 1512 W. Garfield Ave. Two days later, Woodford County Sheriff’s Office deputies took Knowles into custody at a residence in the 3900 block of S. Lauder Ave.
According to Bartonville police reports, a search revealed Knowles had in his possession a pipe, a plastic straw and a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. In addition to theft, he was charged with unlawful possession of meth and of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Knowles also was wanted in Stark County for burglary and larceny. The reports did not state why Woodford County authorities wanted him.

9-29 – to the 400 block of SW 4th Ave. for a verbal domestic disturbance/civil property dispute.
9-29 – to the 400 block of NW 5th St. for a utilities complaint. The Galva Water Department was contacted for a water leak in the yard.
9-29 – While patrolling, an officer located a deceased cat in the roadway near a residence in the 800 block of SE 2nd St. Officer spoke to the resident, who took possession of the cat for burial.
9-30 – to the 400 block of NW 4th St. for a complaint involving damage to a parked vehicled.
9-30 – to the 400 block of Swank St. for a complaint involving a lost or stolen front license plate.
10-1 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a disabled vehicle. Officer directed traffic while the vehicle was towed.
10-1 – to the 400 block of SE 3rd St. for a runaway juvenile complaint. Officer located the juvenile walking in the northeast area of town. The juvenile was returned home.
10-1 – to the 1000 block of N. Center Ave. for a loose-dog complaint. The dog was impounded.
10-1 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a loud-music complaint.
10-2 – to the 00 block of NE 2nd St. for a loose-dog complaint. An officer located the dog but it took awhile to capture it. The dog was impounded. As a result, Debra Kurzeja, 66, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket for allowing a dog to run at large.
10-2 – to meet with a subject at the Galva Police Department to register them as a sex offender.
10-2 – to the 200 block of SW 3rd St. for a loose-dog complaint. The dog was impounded.
10-2 – to the SW 6th Ave. railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
10-2 – to the 300 block of NE 1st St. for a juvenile-mischief complaint.
10-3 – to the 100 block of SE 6th Ave. for a utilities complaint after a large truck tore down utility wires across the roadway.
10-3 – to the 300 block of SE 8th Ave. for a low-speed vehicle inspection.
10-3 – to assist the Annawan Police Department locate a driver involved in a fender-bender in their city. The subject was provided contact information to contact officers in Annawan.
10-3 – to the 300 block of Front St. for a telephone-harassment complaint.
10-4 – to assist the Galva Fire Department with a small fire in a combine northwest of town.
10-4 – to the area of NE 5th St. and NE 2nd Ave. for a broken street sign laying in the roadway.
10-4 – to the 100 block of NE 6th Ave to assist a citizen.
10-4 – to the 00 block of NE 4th St. to remove an unwanted subject. The Henry County Sheriff’s Department also responded and ultimately arrested John Kurzeja for charges of unlawful use of 911.
10-4 – to the 500 block of SE 2nd St. for a complaint involving a group of juveniles loitering. An officer drove through the area, but no crimes were being committed.
10-5 – to the 400 block of SW 4th Ave. to remove an unwanted subject.
10-5 – to the 300 block of Main St. to recover parts of a firearm that had been disposed of.
