Incidents & Accidents
Stark County

10-13 – A single-vehicle accident was reported to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office at the south Illinois Route 78 and 17 junction by a passing motorist. Deputy Calib Ingle responded to the scene and encountered the driver, Justin C. Bicknell, 36, of Crete, walking down Route 17.

Bicknell was transported by Stark County Ambulance personnel to OSF St. Luke Hospital in Kewanee. Bicknell was later cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving under the influence A-2 (where police believe DUI, but there is no chemical test to confirm DUI). Pending lab results, Bicknell could possibly face further charges. His 2006 Chevrolet Couple was towed to the impound lot.

10-14 – Dexter A. Anderson Jr., 27, Peoria, was ticketed for improper lane usage and for driving while his license was suspended. He was released with a court date. His vehicle was towed to the impound lot.

10-14 – Michael A. Powell, 44, Wyoming, was cited for driving a vehicle with an expired registration. He was issued a court date.

10-16 – Venette S. Pittman, rural Toulon, reported she had items stolen from her residence in the past month. Missing items included two ladders, and a sump pump with several feet of hose.

10-17 – Daniel L. McQueen, 40, Murrieta, Calif., was issued multiple citations including possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), driving while his license was revoked, loud music/sound amplification device, illegal transportation of alcohol and illegal transportation of cannabis. He was booked at Stark County Jail and released with a court date.

10-19 – Gary S. Hulin, rural Wyoming, reported the theft of a firearm.

Galva Report
Officer dispatched:

10-14 – to meet with a resident at the Galva PD to take a report of a sexual assault that took place several weeks ago.

10-14 – to speak with a resident in reference to a telephone scam they fell victim to regarding a Facebook account.

10-14 – to issue an ordinance warning for an unlicensed vehicle in the 1000 block of SW 2nd Street.

10-15 – to the Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center in Cambridge to witness a forensic interview of a sexual-assault victim.

10-15 – While patrolling, an officer located a utility wire down across the roadway in the 1000 block of N. Center Ave. It was a phone wire. Frontier was contacted for repairs.

10-15 – James Moore, 40, Altona, cited for expired registration in the 600 block of S. Center Ave.

10-16 – to the 300-400 block of SW 3rd St. for a suspicious-person complaint. It was determined to be a resident having a mental health crisis.

10-16 – to Washington Park for an unknown damage complaint involving the swing set frame having a broken part.

10-16 – to the west edge of town after a motorist hit a cat with their vehicle. The cat was not found.

10-17 – to the 400 block of SE 6th St. for a wild-animal complaint involving skunks.

10-17 – to the 200 block of NW 7th Ave. for a loose-dog complaint. As the result, William Self, 64, Galva, was arrested on two Henry County warrants for driving while license revoked and criminal trespass to state-supported property. Unable to post bond, he was transported to the Henry County Jail.

10-18 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. to return a cellphone that was found. As a result, Dustin Bowman, 43, Kewanee, was arrested on two Henry County warrants for failing to appear on traffic charges. He was taken to the Henry County Jail.

10-18 – to the 00 block of NW 4th Street for a telephone-scam report.

10-18 – to the east edge of town for a reckless driving complaint. Henry County located the vehicle and arrested the driver on a warrant.

10-18 – to check on a stop sign that was destroyed and laying down east of town along Route 34. IDOT was notified and put up a temporary sign.

10-19 – to the 300 block of Front St. to remove an unwanted patron.

10-19 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of SE 2nd St., Leah Middleton, 24, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. She was released with a court date.

10-19 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 900 block of SE 2nd St., Bryce Shores, 27, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a court date.

10-19 – to the Exchange St. railroad tracks for a crossing-arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted.

10-19 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1000 block of N. Center Ave., Dandre Evans, 25, Wataga, was cited for not having a valid driver’s license and speeding 54 in a 30 mph zone. He was released with a required court date.

10-19 – to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of SW 4th St.

10-19 – to meet with a subject in the 1000 block of SE 2nd St. about a lost cell phone. The phone was located and returned.

10-19 – Robert Senkbeil, 40, Geneseo, cited for speeding in the 1000 block of N. Center Ave.

10-20 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of SE 2nd St., Edward Mensen, 58, Galva, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a court date.


10-20 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St., Orina Hadnott, 29, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was released with a court date.
