Officer dispatched:

10-20 – to meet with a resident at the Galva Police Department to discuss a civil stalking/no-contact order.
10-20 – to stop a vehicle in the 300 block of SE 2nd St. The suspect vehicle fled and disobeyed several stop signs before coming to a stop in the 400 block of SW 1st Ave. After resisting officers, the driver was taken into custody. As a result, Richard Ortiz, 30, Galva, was arrested for aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude the police, felony driving while license revoked, obstructing a police officer,and two counts of disobeying a stop sign. He was taken to the Henry County Jail.
10-21 – to the 300 block of NE 1st Ave. for a criminal damage to property complaint after a baseball was reportedly thrown through a window at a residence.
10-22 – to the east edge of town after a reckless driver was reported on U.S. Route 34 near Black Hawk College. The suspect vehicle did not come to Galva.
10-22 – to the 300 block of Commercial St. for an abandoned-vehicle complaint. The vehicle was tagged with a seven day tow away warning sticker.
10-22 – to the 800 block of NE 3rd St. for a neglected-animal complaint. The owner was contacted and owner advised that the animals were being taken care of and were leaving in the next couple days.
10-23 – to the 500 block of NE 3rd St. for a stalking/suspicious vehicle complaint.
10-24 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Center Ave., Colby Murphy, 30, Galesburg, was arrested for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle, and having expired registration. He was released with a required court date.
10-24 – along with the fire dept. to U.S. Route 34 several miles east of Galva for a vehicle fire.
10-24 – to meet with a subject to retrieve a wallet that was found and turned in. The owner of the wallet was contacted.
10-24 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 300 block of S. Center Ave., Mason Senders, 26, Bradford, was arrested for driving while license revoked, operating a vehicle when registration suspended for mandatory insurance. He was released with a required court date.
10-24 – to the 100 block of SE 2nd Ave. for a theft complaint.
10-24 – to assist Henry County serve a civil paper in the 400 block of SW 4th Ave.
10-24 – to the SW 6th Ave. railroad tracks for a crossing-arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
10-25 – to U.S. Route 34 about two miles west of town to assist a motorist whose vehicle had broken down.
10-25 – to the 00 block of SW 2nd St. for a complaint of an abandoned vehicle.
10-25 – to the 300 block of Commercial St. for a complaint involving a subject who locked their keys inside a vehicle. Henry County was able to unlock the vehicle.
10-25 – to the north edge of town to watch for a reckless driver coming towards Galva. Officer located the vehicle, but did not observe any violations.
10-26 – to the 400 block of NW 3rd Ave. for a juvenile complaint involving trespassing.
10-26 – to the north edge of town on County Highway 5 for a suspicious-person complaint.

Peoria County Report
10-12 – A Wyoming driver’s blood-alcohol content was almost twice the legal limit after police stopped him in downtown Peoria.
Zack C. Troxel, 36, was behind the wheel of a 2020 Honda Civic a Peoria police officer pulled over shortly before 3 a.m. in the 200 block of SW Jefferson Ave. Troxel was driving the wrong way on a one-way thoroughfare and backed into a parked vehicle, according to a police report.
Troxel’s BAC was .159. The legal limit is .08.
Troxel was accused of wrong-way driving and two counts of driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
