Incidents & Accidents
9-25 – Christopher J. Young, 35, Pekin, was arrested on a Peoria County warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of driving while his license was suspended. He was also issued citations for speeding 62 mph in a 55 zone, operation of an uninsured vehicle and driving while his license was suspended. Young remained in custody and was extradited to Peoria County Jail the following day.
9-27 – Demacio D. Warfield, 23, Peoria, was arrested and ticketed for speeding 100 mph in a 55 zone, operation of an uninsured vehicle and illegal transportation of cannabis in a vehicle. He was later released with a court date to appear.
9-27 – Dina M. Crawford, 54, Bradford, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, trespassing and intimidation. She was released on Sept. 29, with a notice to appear.
9-28 – Loren B. Crowe, 36, Chillicothe, was cited for disobeying a stop sign.
9-28 – Erica D. Warfield, 42, Peoria, was arrested during a traffic stop and found wanted on a pending warrant in Peoria County. She posted $3,000 cash bond and was released with a court date to appear in Peoria County.
9-28 – Ronald G. Reyes, 32, Kewanee, was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage and driving without a valid registration. The citations resulted after Reyes was involved in a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred south of Wyoming on Route 91.
9-29 – Bryan L. Wilson, 37, Washington, was issued a notice to appear for speeding 74 mph in a 55 zone, driving on a suspended registration and unlawful display of a vehicle registration.
9-30 – Robert L. Robinson Jr., Speer, reported a theft of items stolen from his water-tank trailer. The incident remains under investigation.
10-1 – Giovanni Melendez, 30, El Paso, was cited for driving on an expired registration.
10-1 – Kimberly J. Humes, 37, Wyoming, was cited for driving on a suspended registration.

9-25 – to the 400 block of SE 3rd St. in reference to a child custody dispute.
9-25 – Justine Anderson, 35, Monmouth, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St.
9-25 – R.C. Anderson, 45, Monmouth, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St.
9-26 – Officer was flagged down in the 00 block of SE 1st Ave. for a complaint involving a child-custody dispute.
9-27 – to the 100 block of Front St. for a theft/trespassing complaint.
9-27 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of SW 2nd St., Matthew Hammons, 39, Kewanee, was arrested for not having a driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating a vehicle when registration is suspended for no insurance. He was released with a required court date.
9-28 – Officer was flagged down in the 500 block of E. Division St. and handed a cell phone that had been found in the roadway. The phone appeared to have been run over by a vehicle.
9-28 – Officer, along with the Galva Fire Department, escorted Abilities Plus clients into Galva for their annual picnic at Wiley Park.
9-28 – to the 300 block of SW 4th Ave. for a harassment and disorderly conduct complaint involving juveniles.
9-28 – to the Exchange Street railroad crossing for a complaint of a juvenile riding a bicycle along the tracks. Officer was not able to locate.
9-29 – to a residence on NE 3rd St. for a welfare check after suicidal text messages were received. No contact was made.
9-29 – to Washington Park for a complaint involving an occupied suspicious vehicle parked there. The subject was not breaking any laws.
9-29 – to check the welfare of a subject walking in the 300 block of SW 4th Ave. The subject was reportedly talking to himself and a flashlight. Officer did not locate.
9-30 – to Wiley Park for a complaint of an occupied vehicle parked in the grass. The driver of the vehicle appeared to be watching young children. Officer responded and spoke to the subject. The officer stayed in the park for a while and the vehicle moved along.
9-30 – to the 300 block of Commercial St. for a report involving a hit-and-run accident. Complainant’s vehicle suffered damage from an unknown vehicle. A report was completed.
9-30 – to the 1300 block of SE 2nd St. to check on a motorcyclist that laid their motorcycle down on its side. They were not injured and were able to drive away.
9-30 – to the 300 block of NE 8th Ave. for a loose-dog complaint. The owner came and retrieved the dog.
9-30 – to the 00 block of SW 5th St. for a report of someone yelling for help. Officer located a subject who was looking for her loose dog, which was found.
10-1 – to the 400 block of SW 4th Ave. for a neighbor dispute.
10-1 – to the 200 block of NE 4th St. for a vehicle repossession.
10-1 – to the Galva Park District for a 911 open line call during youth soccer games. Hundreds of people were present and the officer was not able to locate anyone needing assistance.
10-1 – to the 400 block of N. Center Ave. for a report of a strong smell of smoke. Officer located a subject burning items in the yard. Subject was advised today was not a burn day. The fire was put out.
10-1 – to the 400 block of NW 1st St. for a complaint of juveniles running through their yard in the dark. Officer located the subjects, who claimed they were playing a game.
10-1 – Officer checked on a disabled vehicle in the 100 block of N. Center Ave.
10-1 – Officer checked a residence for a subject for the Kewanee Police DEpartment in reference to a violation of an order of protection. The subject no longer lives in Galva.
