Incidents & Accidents
4-5 – A homeowner reported criminal damage to property in the 300 block of McKinnley St. in Speer. Incident remains under investigation.
4-11 – Wesley J. Cozad, 21, Kewanee, was cited for disobeying a stop sign and for driving with no vehicle insurance.
4-14 – Jerry L. Cade, 54, Bradford, was arrested for driving without a vehicle registration, driving while his license was revoked and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content over .08. A $300 cash bond was posted the following day and Cade was released with a court date to appear.
4-15 – A possible bank fraud was reported by a Galva resident to authorities at the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer dispatched:

4-10 – to the 100 block of NE 8th Ave. for a 911 open-line call. It was a pocket dial from a subject mowing the yard.
4-10 – to the 100 block of NW 4th Ave. for a complaint about bones found in the garden. They were determined to be animal bones.
4-10 – to the NE 6th Ave. railroad tracks for a crossing arm malfunction. BNSF was contacted for repairs.
4-11 – to speak with a resident in the 400 block of S. Center Ave. in reference to furniture and junk lying around the property. They agreed to clean it up.
4-11 – to check for subjects standing near the old viaduct west of town on Hayes Road. Officer was not able to locate anyone there.
4-12 – and notified about a disorderly conduct/threats complaint that happened in a vehicle somewhere between Galva and Kewanee.
4-12 – to the 100 block of SE 1st Ave. to assist a citizen locate her dog after it ran away. The dog returned home a few minutes later.
4-12 – to a residence on NW 4th St. for a 911 open-line call. It was determined to be a medical call.
4-13 – to the 1300 block of SE 2nd St. for an activated burglar alarm. It was determined to be a false alarm.
4-13 – to a residence on NW 8th St. for a property-line dispute.
4-13 – to the 300 block of SW 3rd St. for a verbal disturbance.
4-13 – to the 200 block of Front St. for a complaint about subjects using profanities and trying to get into the police department door. Nobody was there when the officer arrived.
4-13 – to the 300 block of SW 3rd St. for a complaint of a subject screaming.
4-13 – to the 400 block of SE 7th Ave. for a reckless driving complaint.
4-13 – to the 100 block of NE 9th St. for a 2-vehicle accident with damage only. A crash report was completed.
4-14 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 00 block of NE 5th St., Jack Stogsdill, 61, Galva, was arrested for driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a required court date.
4-14 – to the intersection of SE 2nd Street and S.Center Ave. for a vehicle vs. traffic sign crash with damage only. The damaged post was returned to the Galva IDOT yard.
4-14 – to the 300 block of SW 3rd St. for two 911 calls about a verbal disturbance. A female subject was removed from the property.
4-14 – to Wiley Park for a complaint involving juveniles turning water on at the hydrants. Officer placed a padlock on the hydrants.
4-14 – to assist a citizen catch her dog that got loose in the 500 block of E. Division St.
4-15 – to the 500 block of SE 4th St. for a 911 hang-up call. The officer checked the area but did not locate anyone needing assistance.
4-15 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 200 block of NE 5th Street, Bryce Glisan, 32, Galva, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. He was released with a required court date.
4-16 – to the 500 block of SE 2nd St. for a reckless-driving complaint.
4-16 – to meet a subject at the Galva Police Department to file a report involving threats and harassment.
4-16 – along with the fire department to the Lincoln House for an activated fire alarm.
4-10 – Kyiah Thomann, 18, Burlington, was issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St.
4-14 – Lerin Mallery, 33, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket for failure to maintain property in the 200 block of NE 6th St.
4-14 – Bryce Glisan, 32, Galva, was issued an administrative warning ticket for failure to maintain property in the 200 block of NE 6th St.
4-15 – Seth Bealer, 18, Colona, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1200 block of SE 2nd St.
