Incidents & Accidents
Stark County

5-4 – A deer related vehicle accident occurred on the South Osceola Road near the intersection of 1650N. The driver involved was Brock A. Colgan, 44, of Bradford. No injuries were reported but the vehicle sustained estimated damages over $1,500.
5-5 – Authorities were dispatched to the village of Speer where a complaint of “fighting neighbors” was reported. The incident remains under investigation.
5-8 – Harassment and threats were the source of a complaint received from a Toulon resident. The incident remains under investigation.
5-8 – A traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Adrieanah M. Harlan, 26, Kewanee, who was found wanted on a Henry County warrant. She was taken into custody and extradited to the Henry County Jail. Also cited in the same traffic stop was a passenger Jalin T. Young, 25, Kewanee, charged with illegal adult use of cannabis in a vehicle.
5-9 – A rural Toulon resident reported a theft and damage to bicycles. She was able to recover the items, but the incident remains under investigation.
5-11 – John E. Warren, 67, Kewanee, was cited for driving on a suspended registration. He was released with a required court date to appear.
5-11 – A single vehicle deer accident occurred on Rte 78 at the intersection of Duncan Road. The driver involved was Jacob M. Painter, 25, of Kewanee. No injuries were reported but the vehicle sustained estimated damages over $1,500.

Officer dispatched:

5-6 – to the 1000 block of N. Center Ave. for a two vehicle accident with damage only. A crash report was completed.
5-6 – to the 300 block of SW 7th St. for a wild animal complaint involving an opossum wandering around the yard. Officer checked the area and was not able to locate.
5-6 – to the 300 block of SW 4th St. for a trash complaint involving loose trash blowing into neighbor’s yards. The resident agreed to address the situation.
5-6 – to Wiley Park for a juvenile complaint involving older kids throwing water balloons at younger kids. A parent was contacted and removed the offenders.
5-7 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. to assist a citizen who had locked himself out of his apartment.
5-7 – to the 200 block of SE 7th Ave. for a harassment through electronic communications complaint. The subject was told to cease communications.
5-7 – to the 400 block of SE 7th Ave. for a civil property dispute.
5-7 – to a residence on NW 2nd Ave. for a welfare check.
5-8 – to the 100 block of NW 2nd Ave. for a civil standby while a subject moved out of the house. No issues occurred.
5-8 – to meet with a subject at the Galva PD who wanted to turn in a purse that belongs to a Galva resident.
5-8 – Nathaniel Finin, 22, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 400 block of NW 3rd Ave.
5-8 – Scott Norman, 52, Galva, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 400 block of S. Center Ave.
5-9 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. for a wild animal complaint involving an orphaned baby squirrel that had been contained. The Hog City Wildlife Rehabilitator was contacted and the squirrel was delivered to them for rehab.
5-9 – to the 200 block of SE 6th St. for a solicitation complaint. A male subject was located and educated about the permit process. The subject was told to cease and was referred to City Hall.
5-9 – to the 00 block of NE 5th Ave. to assist an elderly citizen who needed assistance.
5-9 – to speak with a subject by telephone about an ongoing neighbor dispute.
5-9 – to the 500 block of NE 3rd St. for a 911 hang-up call. It was determined to be a misdial.
5-9 – Kishor Gopineni, 24, Macomb, was issued a citation for speeding in the 1000 block of SE 2nd St.
5-10 – to assist Henry Co with a traffic complaint involving an oversized semi-truck that was disabled and was blocking both lanes of Rte 34 at Midland Road. Officer directed traffic and Hodges towing was contacted. Eventually another truck was able to move the trailer and traffic was able to resume.
5-10 – to the 00 block of SW 4th Street for a wild animal complaint involving two orphaned baby squirrels that were captured. The Hog City Rehabilitator was contacted and responded to take custody of them.
5-10 – to the 100 block of NE 4th St, for a juvenile complaint after a verbal disagreement with a parent.
5-10 – to assist Henry Co with a civil paper service in the 00 block of SW 4th St.
5-10 – Robin Nevling, 59, Monmouth, was issued a citation for having expired registration in the 400 block of SE 2nd St.
5-10 – Kody Beller, 29, Parkersburg, Iowa, was issued a citation for operating an uninsured vehicle in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St.
5-11 – to the 300 block of SW 4th St. for a two vehicle accident in a private driveway. A crash report was completed.
5-11 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of S. Center Ave., a passenger, Gary Shoen, 51, Galva, was arrested on a Henry Co warrant for failing to appear for a pretrial for the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Henry Co Jail.
5-11 – to meet with a resident at the Galva PD to return her purse that was turned in several days ago.
5-12 – While patrolling, an officer located a loose dog running near the intersection of SW 6th Street and SW 5th Ave. The dog was taken to impound and later released back to it’s owner.
5-12 – to check the welfare of a subject seen walking along the railroad tracks just west of town. Officer was not able to locate anyone.
5-12 – to the 300 block of SW 3rd St. for an animal complaint. Officer determined that the complainant was suffering from a mental health crisis.
5-12 – to the 00 block of NE 4th Ave. for a theft and burglary complaint. This remains under investigation..
