7-29 – Jordan P. Jones, 32, Washington, cited for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle.
7-29 – Rachael D. Haiduk, 21, Peyton, Colo., cited for speeding 71 mph in a 55 zone.
7-30 – James S. Harlan, 47, Toulon, was arrested and charged with domestic battery. He was later extradited to the Bureau County Jail. The following day he was released per the request of the Stark County States Attorney with a notice to appear in court.
8-1 – A dog-bite incident was reported at the intersection of Elm and Seventh streets in Wyoming. A five-year-old Wyoming boy was injured and bitten by a loose dog. The youngster was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The incident remains under investigation and the canine was transported to the Stark County dog pound and placed under quarantine.
8-3 – Michael Courtway, 64, of Musselman Street in Toulon, at approximately 1 p.m. apparently passed out driving his pickup truck east on Main Street and went over the embankment at West Jersey Express colliding head-on with two semi trailers parked there, driving those trailers into two other trailers. Courtway sustained serious injuries and was transported to Kewanee St. Luke Hospital, where he was lifeflighted to Peoria. Toulon Fire and Stark County Ambulance responded to the crash, as well as Toulon Police Chief Gary Bent.
8-4 – Izaac G. Toms-Smith, 20, Chadwick, cited for speeding 65 mph in a 55 zone and for driving while his license was suspended. The vehicle was towed to the impound lot and Toms-Smith was issued a court date to appear.

7-17 – Franziska J. Hurliman, 31, of Galva was arrested shortly before 4 a.m. and accused of armed robbery/no firearm, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

7-29 – Officer was flagged down about an area of corn that had been knocked down just west of town along Bonham Road. There was a concern about an accident there. Records indicated a single-vehicle accident had occurred there the previous day.
7-29 – to the 300 block of NE 2nd Ave. for a utility wire laying across the roadway. The wire was removed and Frontier telephone was contacted for repairs.
7-29 – to the 00 block of NE 6th St, for a solicitor complaint. As the result, Logan Lambie, 21, St. Petersburg, Fla., was issued an administrative warning ticket for soliciting without a permit.
7-29 – to the 300 block of SE 2nd St. for a loose-dog complaint.
7-30 – While patrolling, officer noticed a semi-tractor/trailer parked in the 700 block of W. Division St. Officer spoke to the driver, who was waiting for a local business to open. The driver was told he needed to move to avoid blocking traffic.
7-30 – to assist Rux Funeral Home with traffic control for a large funeral procession that proceeded west from town.
7-30 – While patrolling, an officer noticed a train that stopped and blocked every railroad crossing in town for 52 minutes. BNSF was contacted.
7-30 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 400 block of W. Division St., Alan Edwards, 58, Galesburg, was cited for operating a vehicle when registration suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released with a court date.
7-30 – to the 200 block of NW 1st Ave. to check the welfare of several animals. They appeared to be fine.
7-30 – Officer was flagged down about a car-vs.-deer collision several miles north of town. Henry County located the vehicle on County Highway 5 near 650 North.
7-30 – to the 00 block of SW 4th St. to remove an unwanted subject.
7-31 – to a residence on SE 6th St. to assist a citizen with questions about safely storing firearms.

8-2 – As the result of a traffic stop in the 1100 block of SE 2nd St., James Staggs, 37, Galva, was arrested for driving while license suspended. He was taken to the Galva Police Department for processing and then released with a required court date.
8-3 – to the 300 block of SW 3rd St. for an unknown complaint. The subject was suffering from a mental-health crisis.
8-3 – to the 100 block of NE 9th St. for a complaint involving attempted forced entry into the residence. Officer was not able to locate anyone.
