Police reports

• OAK RUN – A 62-year-old Galesburg man was killed in a two-vehicle crash south of Oak Run.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Sept. 23, the victim was driving an eastbound Chevrolet Cruze on U.S. Route 150 between Knox Road 1250 East and Knox Highway 12 when the vehicle collided with a westbound Peterbilt semi-trailer truck that was pulling an oversized load, according to the Illinois State Police.
The victim, identified in his obituary as Ronald L. Hallbick, was pronounced dead at the scene. Route 150 was closed to traffic for almost six hours.

• WEST PEORIA – No significant injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash in West Peoria that involved a Hanna City woman.
Shortly before 4:15 p.m. Sept. 19, Angela M. Cordio was driving a 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan east on Heading Avenue at Holling Drive when an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe sport-utility vehicle struck it as she was turning north, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
Kendra M. Moten of Peoria was the other driver. Cordio said she stopped alongside the curb to allow a vehicle on southbound Holling Drive to turn east. Moten said she assumed Cordio was parked and attempted to pass her. Cordio did not activate her turn signal.
Cordio’s vehicle had one passenger and Moten’s had two. Moten complained about a sore neck but declined medical treatment. Both vehicles sustained minor front-end damage and were drivable.

• WILLIAMSFIELD – A Canton man was cited for multiple offenses after he wrecked his motorcycle east of Williamsfield.
A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was summoned at 3 p.m. Sept. 19 to the 19200 block of N. Elmore Rd. regarding a motorcycle found in a roadside ditch. The motorcycle had major, disabling damage, a sheriff’s-office report stated. No driver was at the scene.
Later, the deputy located the motorcyclist, 29-year-old Cole Schearer. He said he was riding north on Elmore Road about 1:30 a.m. Sept. 19 when the accident happened, apparently because he took a turn too wide and the motorcycle veered off the pavement.
Schearer said he was on his way to a friend’s house in Elmore but left the accident site because his driver’s license was revoked. He received citations for both of those offenses, as well as for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

• TRIVOLI – A two-vehicle wreck west of Trivoli resulted in no apparent serious injuries.
Shortly after 9 a.m. Sept. 18, Jean A. Marlow of Macomb was driving a westbound 2018 Lincoln Continental in the 21000 block of Illinois Route 116 when it rear-ended a 2020 Kia Sportage sport-utility vehicle, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The other driver was Logan W. Fuller of Farmington. He said he slowed behind a semi-trailer truck that was making a left turn. Neither Fuller nor his two passengers, a male and a female, reported injuries. Marlow said she had minor pain from her seat belt. She drove away. The Sportage was towed.

• FARMINGTON – A Trivoli-area man admitted to driving with a revoked license in Farmington.
Corey L. Gerarden, 36, was behind the wheel of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck a Farmington police officer stopped shortly before 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 600 block of E. Fort St. The officer had checked Gerarden’s license plate and discovered the revoked driver’s license, a police report stated.
Gerarden said he had to drop off his son in Farmington for a youth-group activity. In addition to the driver’s-license offense, Gerarden was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle. His vehicle was impounded.

• TOULON – An Elmwood woman was cited for multiple traffic offenses in Stark County. Breanna L. Kiesner, 35, was accused Sept. 15 of improper lane use, operation of an uninsured vehicle and driving while her license was suspended, according to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.
Kiesner’s vehicle was impounded, and she was issued a notice to appear in court.

• FARMINGTON – A Canton man stopped for speeding in Farmington also had an outstanding Fulton County warrant.
Travis A. Williams, 24, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck 48 mph in a 40-mph zone shortly before 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13 in the 300 block of S. Main St., according to a Farmington police report. A post-stop check revealed the warrant.
After Williams posted $350 in bond, he received a new notice to appear in Fulton County Circuit Court in Lewistown. He also was cited for speeding.

• KICKAPOO – Law-enforcement authorities were looking for someone who abandoned a wrecked vehicle on a road east of Kickapoo.
A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched shortly after 6:15 a.m. Sept. 12 to the 9300 block of N. Trigger Rd. Details about the vehicle were redacted from a report.
The vehicle appeared to have been northbound when it left the pavement to the west, struck mailboxes in front of two residences and stopped. Blood was found on the steering wheel.
Found in the glove compartment was a purse that contained drug pipes and used needles that contained what was suspected to be methamphetamine. A search for the registered owner of the vehicle, who resides in Pekin, was futile.

• MOSSVILLE – No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision near Mossville that involved an Edwards man.
Brian E. Lister was driving a westbound 2020 Ford F-150 pickup truck shortly before 5 p.m. Sept. 11 in the 2400 block of E. Engine Drive when the vehicle struck a 2022 Toyota Corolla that was exiting a parking lot, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
Shashank Burigeli of Peoria was the other driver. He said he accidentally stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake. His vehicle sustained dents on the driver’s-side doors. Lister’s vehicle sustained front-end damage.

• ELMWOOD – Shortly after 1 a.m. Sept. 20, a 17-year-old Edwards boy was driving an eastbound 2026 GMC Envoy sport-utility vehicle in the 20600 block of Illinois Route 8 east of Elmwood when the vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the north. The boy appeared to be uninjured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The vehicle sustained medium-to-heavy front-end damage and was towed.

• LAURA – Matthew J. Webb, 36, of Laura was arrested shortly before 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22 and accused of violating an order of protection, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

• FARMINGTON – Victoria J. Sale, 29, of Farmington was arrested shortly after 8:45 a.m. Sept. 19 and was being held for another law-enforcement agency for failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
