• HANNA CITY – A Yates City man was accused of drunken driving after being found asleep at the wheel of a vehicle at an intersection south of Hanna City.
A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched shortly before 4:45 a.m. Nov. 8 to Lancaster and Harkers Corner roads. There the deputy found Kaden M. Runyon, 21, inside a 2013 Chrysler 300 off the roadway at the northeast corner of the intersection, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.
The vehicle gear shift was in drive. The vehicle was towed and Runyon was transported to the Peoria County jail, where he was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
• ELMWOOD – An apparent domestic incident at an Elmwood residence resulted in a local man’s arrest.
Brayden M. Amerman, 18, was accused of domestic battery and illegal consumption of alcohol following the incident. It happened about 11:45 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 400 block of E. Cypress St., per a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The victim was a 42-year-old Elmwood woman. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services was notified.
• LAURA – A hit-and-run accident at an intersection south of Laura resulted in no apparent injuries. Amy M. Krantz of Dahinda was driving a westbound 2024 BMW 430i that was stopped about 12:30 p.m. Nov. 7 on Scotland Prairie Road at Illinois Route 78 when a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox rear-ended it, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The other driver called Krantz names and drove away, she said. The Audi received minor dents and scrapes. Krantz provided a deputy with a photograph of the Equinox’s license plate. It was traced to an owner in Peoria.
• PRINCEVILLE – A Princeville man was accused of multiple crimes following an apparent domestic dispute at a local residence.
Jesse L. Rosas, 38, was transported to the Peoria County Jail about 3 a.m. Nov. 5 from the 200 block of E. Evans St., according to a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. Victims were 37- and 44-year-old Princeville women.
Rosas was charged with battery, domestic battery and resisting arrest.
• YATES CITY – A Yates City man said he received suspicious and potentially threatening social-media and internet messages.
The 19-year-old victim alerted the Knox County Sheriff’s Office about 8:15 p.m. Nov. 3. According to a report, he received multiple messages on Instagram from a man who claimed to have attended Farmington High School with him. The victim didn’t remember the suspect.
Later, the victim received telephone calls and text messages, including one that stated “Hey I sent someone after you” and another that included a photograph of the victim’s residence. The victim blocked the suspect on all electronics and reported his account to Instagram.
• EDWARDS – A Bartonville motorcyclist sustained apparently minor injuries from a single-vehicle accident north of Edwards.
Dale B. Riggen was aboard a northbound 2002 motorcycle shortly before 1:45 p.m. Nov. 3 in the 6000 block of N. Kickapoo-Edwards Rd. when a deer emerged from the east, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
Riggen apparently avoided the deer, but the motorcycle slid off the pavement into an east-side ditch and struck a utility pole. Riggen sustained scrapes and complained about back pain but refused medical treatment from Brimfield firefighters.
• TRIVOLI – A three-vehicle accident in Trivoli resulted in no apparent injuries.
Shortly after 4:15 p.m. Nov. 2, Michael Hansen of Prairie City was driving an eastbound 2000 Ford Excursion sport-utility vehicle in the 19300 block of Illinois Route 116 when the driver’s-side mirror struck that of a westbound 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Meghan N. Ratliff of Lewistown.
The Excursion mirror shattered the vehicle’s front driver’s-side window and landed in the back seat, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The F-150 mirror flew off that vehicle and struck the front windshield of the vehicle behind it, a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox SUV driven by Amiyah L. Bailey of Canton.
• FARMINGTON – A Farmington man was arrested in connection with a drunken-driving offense.
At 5 p.m. Nov. 1, a Farmington police officer spotted Arlie M. Morse, 50, entering a vehicle parked at a business on Fort Street. A check revealed Morse was wanted for failure to appear in court regarding the DUI, which dates from 2022, according to a police report.
The officer followed the vehicle, in which Morse was a passenger, to the 100 block of W. Pearl St. Morse said he wasn’t aware of the warrant and was unable to pay the $500 bond. The officer transported Morse to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
• HANNA CITY – At 8:30 p.m. Nov. 4, Frederick P. Roe of Peoria was driving a southbound 2009 Audi A4 in the 900 block of S. Eden Rd. southwest of Hanna City when the vehicle struck a deer. Roe was uninjured, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The vehicle was drivable.
• OAK RUN – Shortly after 6:15 a.m. Nov. 4, Richard L. Brown, 72, of Oak Run was driving a southbound 2010 Ford Ranger pickup truck on Knox Highway 12 south of Knox Road 1725 North when the vehicle struck a deer. Brown sustained minor injuries, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle was towed.
• PRINCEVILLE – At 7 p.m. Nov. 3, Jessica L. Wanger of Princeville was driving a 2018 GMC Yukon north on Princeville-Jubilee Road at Parks School Road. when the vehicle struck a deer. Wanger wasn’t injured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained damage but was drivable.
• TRIVOLI – At 7 a.m. Nov. 3, Carol A. Rathman of Farmington was driving an eastbound 2016 Toyota Camry on Illinois Route 116 east of Trivoli when the vehicle struck a deer. Rathman didn’t appear to be injured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle was drivable.
• FARMINGTON – At 6 p.m. Nov. 2, Stephanie M. Smith of Canton was driving a southbound 2012 Chrysler Town & Country minivan in the 4300 block of S. Stone School Rd. southeast of Farmington when the vehicle struck a deer. Smith and her five passengers weren’t injured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle was drivable.
• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between Nov. 9-15: burglary, Douglas; alarm, Williamsfield.
