• TRIVOLI – An Elmwood man was arrested after he was accused of stealing copper wire in Trivoli.
Jesse J. Eldridge, 41, was apprehended shortly before 10:45 a.m. Feb. 21 in a field behind a residence in the 100 block of W. Cedar St. in Elmwood, according to heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office reports.

About two hours earlier, a Trivoli man attempted to prevent Eldridge from leaving a property in the 100 block of S. Trivoli Rd. The victim’s vehicle, a 2022 Ford F-250 pickup truck, collided with a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica that Eldridge was driving, a report stated. No injuries were reported, and Eldridge drove away.
Eldridge was charged with theft and criminal trespass to property. He also was wanted in Fulton and Peoria counties for unspecified crimes.


• PRINCEVILLE – A Princeville man was accused of aggravated domestic battery.

Jeremy J. Schrader, 49, was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. Feb. 20 at a gasoline station at U.S. Route 24 and Illinois Route 9 south of Bartonville, according to a redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The incident apparently happened Feb. 17 at a residence in the 200 block of E. North St. in Princeville.
The victim was a 48-year-old Princeville woman. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services was notified.

• BRIMFIELD – No injuries were reported following a vehicle fire northwest of Brimfield.

A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched about 3:15 p.m. Feb. 19 to Illinois Route 78 and McClellan Road. There the deputy found ablaze a 2025 Toyota Corolla, according to a sheriff’s-office report.

The driver, a 45-year-old Morton man, said he picked up the vehicle about two hours earlier from a dealership in Moline, which performed engine work. While driving, the man saw white smoke emanating from the exhaust area, then the vehicle lost all power.

Brimfield firefighters extinguished the flames. The vehicle, owned by a 39-year-old Williamsfield woman, was towed.

• PRINCEVILLE – A suspect from Farmington was being sought after being accused of making threatening telephone calls to someone in Princeville, according to authorities.

The incident in the 500 block of N. Town Ave. was reported at 7 p.m. Feb. 17, a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. Details regarding the suspect and the victim were among the redactions.

Also redacted was most information about two apparent witnesses, both from Princeville.


• OAK HILL – An Elmwood driver who was attempting to avoid hitting a cat required hospital attention following a single-vehicle crash.

Shortly after 6:45 a.m. Feb. 17, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy found Bradley J. Stewart sitting against the rear tire of a heavily damaged 2007 Ford Focus in a field along Maher Road north of Illinois Route 8.

Per a sheriff’s-office report, Stewart didn’t recall what happened after the vehicle left the pavement and rolled. A bloodied Stewart sustained head lacerations and complained about left-shoulder pain. An ambulance transported him to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. The vehicle was towed.

• FARMINGTON – An apparent disturbance at a Farmington apartment resulted in a Canton man’s arrest on an unrelated matter.

A Farmington police officer was dispatched shortly before 3 a.m. Feb. 15 to the 300 block of W. Fort St. There he found 27-year-old Trent L. Johnson in the parking lot. He said he was visiting his mother when she asked him to leave, according to a police report.


A check revealed Johnson was wanted in Fulton County for criminal damage to property. Johnson was transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown after he said he wasn’t able to pay the $350 bond. He also was barred from returning to the Fort Street residence.


• FARMINGTON – A Florida woman wanted in Peoria County was arrested following an incident at a Farmington residence.

Carrollyn R. Sorensen, 28, of New Port Richey invited a Yates City man about 4:30 a.m. Feb. 14 to the residence, in the 300 block of N. Cone St. When the man arrived, Sorensen told him to leave, according to a Farmington police report. An officer was dispatched there regarding a report about a disturbance.
Sorensen was accused in Peoria County of criminal trespass to a vehicle, a 2022 incident. She was transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

• FARMINGTON – Jeremy T. Mentzer, 35, of Farmington paid $1,000 cash bond about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in connection with a 2011 Fulton County warrant for criminal sexual abuse, according to a Farmington police report. The warrant was found after Mentzer reported to the police department to register as a sex offender following his release from prison. He received a notice to appear in Fulton County Circuit Court in Lewistown.


• FARMINGTON – Brian E. McVey, 63, of Farmington paid $530 in bond and fees regarding a Peoria County outstanding warrant for violating a court order, according to a police report. An officer stopped an eastbound vehicle McVey was driving about 6 p.m. Feb. 11 on Fort Street because one of its headlights was missing.
