• DAHINDA – Three people were killed as the result of a two-vehicle head-on crash on Interstate 74 south of Dahinda.

Pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 3 a.m. Jan. 30 were Todd A. Graves, 61, of Springfield, Ohio, and Steven H. Youngquist, 70, of Galesburg, according to Knox County Coroner Jacque Dare. Youngquist’s wife, 72-year-old Christine Youngquist, died at 4:55 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Graves was driving a 2012 Cadillac sedan headed west in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 63 when it collided with a 2019 Toyota sport-utility vehicle Steven Youngquist was driving, according to Dare and law-enforcement agencies.

A helicopter transported Christine Youngquist to St. Francis. She and the others sustained multiple blunt-force trauma injuries, the Peoria County Coroner’s Office reported. Toxicology is pending. Illinois State Police are investigating. Part of I-74 was closed to traffic until about 9:30 a.m.

• YATES CITY – A Yates City man said he saw someone possibly being abducted in front of his residence, but no evidence was found.

The incident allegedly took place about 6:45 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 300 block of E. Main St., according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. The 54-year-old witness said he heard people yelling and fighting outside.

When he investigated, he saw a dark vehicle with no lights on in the middle of the street. He heard a female scream and saw someone run, then grabbed and put in another vehicle. The witness said it was too dark outside to be more specific, although one vehicle headed toward Elmwood.

In Elmwood, a 31-year-old Yates City resident said he saw a vehicle that matched what the witness described but lost sight of it, the report stated. Elmwood police were notified and video-surveillance footage from businesses was reviewed, but the vehicle was not located.

• PRINCEVILLE – An incident in Princeville led to the arrest of a local man for violating an order of protection. A heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report indicated the Facebook social-media platform played a role regarding the accusation against Micah F. Winkler, 40. The report was not more specific.

The incident at a residence in the 300 block of S. Tremont Ave. was reported shortly before 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19. Winkler was arrested about a half-hour later in the 300 block of W. High St. and transported to the Peoria County Jail.

• HANNA CITY – An Oklahoma woman was accused of assaulting people at a Hanna City residence. The incident happened about 12:15 p.m. Jan. 19 in the 400 block of N. First St.

A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested Rickquel D. King, 31, of Oklahoma City. She was transported to the Peoria County Jail and booked for domestic battery, according to a redacted report.

Found at the residence were an unspecified amount of methamphetamine and a glass pipe. It wasn’t clear to whom the items belonged. No illicit-drugs charges were listed on a redacted supplemental report.

• KICKAPOO – A recliner was stolen from the bed of a pickup truck parked at a Kickapoo-area gasoline station, according to authorities.

The black recliner was in a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado parked shortly before 4 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Shell station at 7116 N. Kickapoo-Edwards Rd. The victim said she went inside the station for about 15 minutes and returned to find the recliner gone, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The recliner was valued at about $450.

• OAK HILL – No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle wreck west of Oak Hill.

Shortly before 8:15 a.m. Jan. 15, Adrienne Steffes of Brimfield was driving a 2020 GMC Suburban east in the 17600 block of Illinois Route 8 when a 2011 Ford XL pickup truck rear-ended it, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. Michael G. Vicary of Elmwood was the other driver.

Steffes had slowed to turn left into a driveway, and Vicary said he didn’t see her vehicle until his crested a hill. He attempted to swerve to avoid her vehicle, but a garbage truck was in the westbound lane. The report didn’t state damage to either vehicle.

• OAK HILL – A Peoria man was arrested in Oak Hill regarding multiple crimes, including drunken driving. A redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report indicated Darren A. Holloway, 32, was taken into custody about 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11 in the 17300 block of Illinois Route 8. The two apparent victims also were from Peoria.

Holloway was accused of domestic battery, endangering the life of a child, improper lane use and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol.

• PRINCEVILLE – A single-vehicle accident southeast of Princeville resulted in a North Pekin man’s arrest for drunken driving.

A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched about 3 a.m. Jan. 10 to the 5500 block of W. Akron Rd. There the deputy found Robert J. Ulick in the back seat of a 2004 Honda Accord in a south-side ditch, according to a report.
The vehicle had a flat front driver’s-side tire. Ulick said he didn’t know what happened and he was uninjured. Ulick was transported to the Peoria County Jail and accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use.

• NORWOOD – No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision in Norwood that involved a Farmington woman.

Konnie L. Lansford was behind the wheel of an eastbound 2023 Dodge Charger shortly before 7:30 a.m. Jan. 8 in the 6500 block of W. Farmington Rd. when a 2017 Ford Escape rear-ended it. Heather M. Bouchez of Peoria was the other driver, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated.

Lansford’s vehicle was stopped behind a school bus. Bouchez admitted fault. She said her vehicle slid on ice. Bouchez’s vehicle had disabling front-end damage and was towed. Lansford’s vehicle was drivable.

• BRIMFIELD – Shortly after 9:15 p.m. Jan. 16, William M. Davison of Elmwood was driving a 2013 GMC Yukon XL sport-utility vehicle west on U.S. Route 150 near Best Road east of Brimfield when the SUV struck a deer that emerged from the south. Davison declined medical attention, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The SUV sustained minor damage to its hood and right headlight and was drivable. The impact killed the deer.
