• KICKAPOO – An Edwards woman was accused of multiple crimes, including drunken driving, following a two-vehicle head-on wreck south of Kickapoo.

Jessica M. Reynolds, 30, was driving a 2007 Lincoln Town Car shortly before 8:45 p.m. Feb. 23 in the 7400 block of N. Kickapoo-Edwards Rd. when her vehicle collided with a 2017 Ford Explorer, according to Peoria County Sheriff’s Office reports.

The other driver, Elaine Long of Galesburg, said she was driving south on Kickapoo-Edwards Road when Reynolds’ vehicle exited a gasoline station and headed north in the southbound lane. Long, 73, swerved to the left to avoid a collision, but Reynolds’ vehicle struck the Explorer’s passenger-side front bumper.

Reynolds said she didn’t remember what happened, according to a report. She admitted to drinking alcohol.

Ambulances transported Reynolds, Long and her passenger, a male, to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Long complained of pain in her chest and back, and her passenger sustained an abrasion. Reynolds’ injury was unspecified.

Reynolds was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane use and two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol. Both vehicles were towed. Brimfield firefighters also responded.

• PEORIA – A Hanna City man was arrested after he was involved in a disturbance at a Peoria hospital.

There were six security guards atop Johnie K. Burton, 24, when a Peoria police officer arrived about 11 a.m. Feb. 23 at the emergency room of Carle Health Methodist Hospital. What prompted that reaction was redacted from a police report.

Later, Burton admitted he used heroin, then attempted to leave without the officer’s permission. That resulted in another physical confrontation. Burton was accused of aggravated battery against a security guard and was transported to the Peoria County Jail.

• KICKAPOO – A Peoria woman was accused of driving over a picket fence in front of a Kickapoo residence.

Security-camera footage revealed Chelsea A. Weldon, 29, was driving a northbound 2014 Nissan Maxima shortly before 5 a.m. Feb. 22 on Kickapoo-Edwards Road when the vehicle rolled past the stop sign at U.S. Route 150, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

The vehicle continued north on Vine Street, left the pavement to the west, struck the fence and almost struck a utility pole. Weldon said she didn’t remember what happened, the report stated. She was uninjured.

Weldon was cited for failure to give information and for improper lane use. The vehicle sustained moderate damage but was drivable.

• EDWARDS – An Edwards man reported minor injuries following a single-vehicle accident.
Carl D. Wyrick, 50, was driving a westbound 2013 Cadillac sport-utility vehicle shortly before 11:30 p.m. Feb. 22 on Southport Road near Powder Mill Road when he swerved to avoid a deer and crashed into a culvert, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

Wyrick said he sustained a scratch on his nose and an abrasion on his left foot. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed. Also damaged were two road signs. Wyrick was cited for leaving the scene.

• KICKAPOO – A vehicle fire east of Kickapoo caused at least $10,000 in damage, authorities stated. A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched about 10:15 a.m. Feb. 18 to U.S. Route 150 and Gilles Road. There he found a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that was engulfed in flames before Brimfield firefighters doused them, according to a redacted report.

The vehicle, which was towed, had at least two occupants. The owner was from Brimfield. The fire also damaged pavement on Gilles Road.

• WILLIAMSFIELD – Someone smashed a window on a Maquon woman’s vehicle while it was parked in Williamsfield, according to authorities.

The damage was reported about 2:30 p.m. Feb. 17 in the 100 block of N. Illinois Route 180, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. The 32-year-old victim said the damaged front-passenger window on the 2004 Chrysler was intact when she parked at work about 6 a.m. A deputy tried in vain to contact a possible suspect, a sheriff’s-office report stated. Damage was estimated at $300.

• TRIVOLI – No injuries were reported as the result of a single-vehicle accident south of Trivoli.

Dannyel C. Carroll of Maquon was driving a westbound 2003 Mercury sedan at 3:45 p.m. Feb. 14 in the 20400 block of W. Smithville Rd. when the vehicle slid on ice and snow as she braked, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle slid into a ditch. Logan-Trivoli first responders evaluated Carroll and a male passenger.

• PEORIA – An Elmwood man was arrested in Limestone Township regarding a domestic-battery accusation. Zakkary A. McCoy, 18, was taken into custody about 11:45 a.m. Feb. 13 at a residence in the 1300 block of S. Laramie Ave., according to a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

• DOUGLAS – A Rock Island man avoided injury from a single-vehicle wreck north of Douglas.

Anthony Watkins, 26, was driving a westbound 2013 Dodge Avenger shortly after 9:30 a.m. Feb. 12 in the 1800 block of Knox Highway 17 when he lost control of the vehicle because of snow on the pavement, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report.

The vehicle slid into a north-side ditch. A tow truck pulled the vehicle, which was drivable, out of the ditch.

• FARMINGTON – Following an apparent domestic battery at a Farmington residence, a local woman was arrested for an unrelated crime.

A Farmington police officer was summoned about 5:15 p.m. Feb. 9 to the 400 block of W. Fort St. One of the people involved in the dispute, 37-year-old Tiffany M. Glatz, was wanted in Fulton County regarding a 2021 drunken-driving accusation.

Glatz was transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

• EDWARDS – At 5:30 p.m. Feb. 18, Shawn M. Meeks of Elmwood was driving a westbound 2006 Chevrolet Malibu on Illinois Route 8 at Cutoff Road when the vehicle struck at least one deer. Meeks wasn’t injured, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The vehicle was damaged but drivable.

• HANNA CITY – At 5:30 p.m. Feb. 18, Kaylee N. O’Donnell of Peoria was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox east in the 12400 block of W. Smithville Rd. when the vehicle struck a deer. O’Donnell was uninjured, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle sustained moderate damage but did not require a tow.

• HANNA CITY – Shortly before 7:45 p.m. Feb. 16, Justin F. Flick of Bloomington was driving a 2011 Ford pickup truck east on Illinois Route 116 at Conn Road west of Hanna City when the vehicle struck a deer. Flick was uninjured, a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report stated. The vehicle sustained minor damage.
