Barn fires spread to Hanna City home
HANNA CITY – Logan-Trivoli Firefighters responded to a reported barn fire at 14326 W Smithville Road in rural Hanna City on March 9 at 3:17 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found three barns on fire and the house catching fire.
The owner of the property is Scott Turbett.
Logan-Trivoli Fire Assistant Fire Chief Chris Matzke said firefighters fought winds gusting in excess of 30 mph to extinguish the exterior of the house and the three barns. Three additional buildings were smoking and those were extinguished also.
Three barns ended up being destroyed. Three buildings were saved and the house was saved. A damage estimate is unknown at this time.
Cause of the fire is unknown at this time. There were no injuries. Eight nearby fire departments responded to assist Logan-Trivoli Fire, which remained on the scene till 9:30 p.m.
Police reports
• FARMINGTON – Timothy Martin, 29, of Farmington was arrested for domestic battery on March 15, according to a Farmington police report. He was taken to Fulton County Jail.
• FARMINGTON – Dalton Powell, 19, of Farmington was given citations on March 12 related to a complaint by the management of Circle K Gas Station in the 1000 block of E. Fort St. that Powell had used a fake I.D. to buy alcohol, according to a Farmington police report. Police located Powell at a Farmington residence and took him into custody for possession of a fraudulent driver’s license, illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was given a court date of April 15 in Lewistown.
• ELMWOOD – Jesse J. Eldridge, 36, of Elmwood was charged on March 14 with home invasion with injury, aggravated domestic battery, criminal damage to property $500-$10,000 and unlawful possession of a weapon.
• FARMINGTON – Jesse R. Davis, 34, of Farmington, was arrested March 7 for resisting/obstructing an office, aggravated fleeing or eluding an officer, reckless driving and DWLS/R according to a Fulton County Sheriff’s report.
• FARMINGTON – Annalisa Hogue, 32, of Farmington, was arrested March 9 for domestic battery according to a Fulton County Sheriff’s report.
