Peoria County releases February crime stats

The Peoria Sheriff’s Department has released Crime Statistics Report for February for Peoria County townships in The Weekly Post’s area.
• Brimfield city and township together had 2 identity thefts/frauds, 1 theft, 2 incidents of vandalism/ criminal damage to property, 1 accident with no injuries and 4 traffic citations.
• Elmwood city and township together had 1 domestic battery, 1 identity theft/fraud, and 1 accident with no injuries.
• Jubilee had 1 burglary, 1 theft, 2 incident of vandalism/criminal damage to property and 1 accident with no injuries.
• Kickapoo had 2 burglaries, 3 Driving Under the Influence incidents with 3 arrests, 1 theft, 2 incidents of vandalism/criminal damage to property, 5 accidents with no injuries and 6 traffic tickets.
• Millbrook had 1 accident with no injuries.
• Princeville township together had 1 burglary, 1 motor-vehicle theft, 1 sexual assault, 1 trespass, 1 incident of vandalism/criminal damage to property and 2 accidents without injury. Radnor had 1 battery/mob action with an arrest, 1 burglary, 1 theft, 1 vandalism/criminal damage to property incident, 1 violation of an Order of Protection and 1 traffic citation. Rosefield had 1 accident with no injuries.

Police reports
ELMWOOD – Bryan E. Walker, 54, of Elmwood was charged on March 14 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear with fee.

PRINCEVILLE – Tanya A. Drummond, 31, of Princeville was charged on March 14 for theft over $10,000 but under $100,000.

FARMINGTON – Benjamin Michael Wendell, 31, of Farmington was charged on March 15 of unlawful possession of a motor vehicle and a driving on a suspended license.

EDWARDS – The Brimfield Fire Department was already on the scene fighting flames that engulfed a storage shed in Edwards by the time police arrived on March 7. The fire severed a “power line connected to the house which shot sparks in all directions,” according to a March 7 Peoria County Sheriff’s report. Probable cause was a wood burner inside the shed, according to the Brimfield Fire Department. The Elmwood Fire Department. and Ameren were also on the scene. The fire was put out. According to the owner, four cats, three dogs, a racoon and rabbits were housed in the shed.

EDWARDS – The Brimfield Fire Department, assisted by Logan-Trivoli and two other fire departments, responded to a ditch fire that got out of control recently, according to a Sheriff’s report. The fire had spread 300-400 yards into a field before being extinguished.

PRINCEVILLE – A man called in a reckless driving report March 10, after a woman in a “white Malibu” next to him as he gassed up at Caseys in the 100 block of Princeville, swore at him and then raced off, tires squealing. The sheriff’s report did not say if he knew the woman.
