• TRIVOLI – A Hanna City woman was accused of drunken driving following a two-vehicle crash west of Trivoli.
Jenni M. Nagel, 44, was driving a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Astro about 11:15 p.m. Feb. 28 on Stone School Road when the vehicle did not stop at an intersection with Illinois Route 116, per a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The front passenger-side bumper of the Astro struck the rear of an eastbound 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Jeremy S. Kling of Farmington. The Astro continued through the intersection, left the pavement, rolled multiple times and stopped in a ditch about 150 feet north of Route 116.
Kling’s vehicle spun across Route 116 and stopped on the westbound shoulder, facing west. Kling and two passengers were transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria with unspecified injuries. So were Nagel, who was bleeding from her face, and her passenger.
Nagel was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and for disregarding a traffic-control device. The Astro sustained extensive damage and was towed, as was the Cobalt.
• OAK HILL – A fire on a property west of Oak Hill destroyed a barn and its contents, all worth about $22,000. A passerby noticed the barn at 19001 W. Illinois Route 8 ablaze about 2:15 p.m. March 4 and notified one of the residents, who wasn’t home at the time. Another resident was home but taking a nap and unaware of the fire, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
Inside the barn were a pontoon boat and lumber. No injuries were reported, and the cause was not deemed suspicious. Akron-Princeville, Brimfield, Elmwood and Logan-Trivoli firefighters responded, as did BYE Ambulance.
• FARMINGTON – A traffic stop resulted in a Farmington woman being arrested for multiple crimes, including illegal possession of cannabis.
Tamara K. Pinkerton, 61, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Impala when a Farmington police officer pulled it over about 4 p.m. Feb. 27 on Pearl Street near West Street. The vehicle’s license plates were suspended and expired, according to a police report.
Further investigation revealed Pinkerton was wanted in Fulton County for failure to appear in court on a suspended-registration charge.
Including the cannabis charge, Pinkerton was accused of possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating a vehicle with suspended registration. She was transported to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
• WILLIAMSFIELD – A tandem-axle vehicle trailer was reported stolen from a Williamsfield-area property.
The owner of the property in the 2300 block of Illinois Route 180, a Peoria Heights man, notified the Knox County Sheriff’s Office about 3:15 p.m. Feb. 27. The 16-foot 1987 Samson trailer had wooden side rails three boards high.
According to a sheriff’s-office report, the owner last saw the trailer on the property about two weeks earlier.
• PRINCEVILLE – A delivery truck damaged a Peoria County Highway Department salt shed south of Princeville.
The incident at 15017 N. Evans Mill Rd. was reported at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 26. The facility supervisor said the bed of the truck struck the shed ceiling while unloading salt, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The supervisor said he would handle the situation.
• KICKAPOO – About $3,000 in tools, batteries and other items were reported stolen from storage units south of Kickapoo.
The apparent burglary was reported about 5:45 p.m. Feb. 25 at Kickapoo Storage, 7405 N. Kickapoo-Edwards Rd. Damage to a padlock and a metal door also were reported, according to a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
• KICKAPOO – A Tennessee man was cited for multiple violations following a traffic stop north of Kickapoo.
Brendan A. Dieken, 19, of Lenoir City was driving a southbound 2019 Nissan Rogue about 7:45 a.m. Feb. 25 on Princeville-Jubilee Road when a Peoria County Sheriff’s office deputy pulled it over near Legion Hall Road. Dieken’s vehicle was traveling 71 mph in a 55-mph zone, a sheriff’s-office report stated.
A check revealed Dieken’s driver’s license was suspended. He received a citation for that, as well as one for speeding. The vehicle was impounded.
• TRIVOLI – An aggravated-domestic-battery incident was alleged to have happened at a Trivoli residence, although no arrests were made immediately.
The incident in the 18800 block of Illinois Route 116 was reported at 7:45 p.m. Feb. 23, according to a redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The alleged victim, a 43-year-old woman, and the suspect, a 32-year-old man, were from Canton. A 44-year-old Farmington woman was a witness.
A deputy alerted the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, because a child had been present.
• LAURA – No injuries were reported after one vehicle backed into another in the parking lot of the Millbrook Township Community Center.
Steven R. West of Oneida was driving a 2003 Dodge 1500 pickup truck when it struck a parked 2024 Chevrolet Equinox about 11:45 a.m. Feb. 23 in the lot at 20923 W. Cedar St., according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
West said he didn’t realize he backed into the Equinox, owned by Alyssa E. Donsbach of Abingdon. The Equinox sustained damage to its grille and hood. The pickup truck sustained minor scratches to its rear bumper. Both vehicles were drivable.
• EDWARDS – Shortly before 6:15 p.m. Feb. 22, Dianna L. Hillebrand of Farmington was driving a 2017 Lexus RX350 south in the 1800 block of N. Taylor Rd. when the vehicle struck a deer that emerged from the east. Hillebrand and her female passenger didn’t require medical treatment, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The vehicle was towed after it sustained damage to its windshield and driver’s-side headlight. Its driver’s-side mirror was missing.
• ELMWOOD – Chief Aaron Bean reported the following Elmwood Police Department activity for February: seven traffic stops, eight warnings, 13 reports and one notice to appear in court.
• FARMINGTON – Chief Chris Darsham reported the following Farmington Police Department activity for February: 190 business checks, 3,015 building checks, two crashes, two property crimes, 16 traffic tickets, six ordinance violations, two crimes against people, 20 traffic stops, 10 arrests, 26 reports, 261 total calls, 11 calls to assist other departments and 15 miscellaneous.
• YATES CITY – Chief Randy Benson reported the following Yates City Police Department activity for February: 14 reports, eight traffic stops, seven warnings and three citations.
• WILLIAMSFIELD – Chief James Robertson reported the following Williamsfield Police Department activity for February: One 9-1-1 hangup, one juvenile complaint, one suspicious person and one harassment complaint.
• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between Feb. 23-March 1: theft, Dahinda; harassment, Williamsfield; two verbal domestic disputes, Dahinda; burglary, Galva; battery, Yates City.
