Peoria County releases April crime statistics
Statistics for crimes against people and crimes against property in some
places have fallen with the pandemic’s stay-at-home recommendations
and travel restrictions. But comparing Peoria Sheriff’s Department data from February, March and April for the eight Peoria County townships in The Weekly Post’s circulation area show six townships were little changed or slightly lower, and two – Kickapoo and Radnor – showed increases in crimes. Those numbers don’t reflect accidents or traffic citations, and all data reflect calls where the County was the primary responder.
For April, Brimfield city and township together had 1 Driving Under the Influence incident with an arrest, 1 obstructing justice with an arrest, 1
vandalism/criminal damage to property, three traffic tickets and 2 accidents with no injuries.
Elmwood city and township together had 1 burglary of a residence, 1 burglary of a non-residence and 2 accidents with no injuries. Jubilee had 1 sexual assault.
Kickapoo had 1 burglary of a nonresidence, 1 disorderly conduct, 1 Driving Under the Influence incident with an arrest, 1 motor vehicle theft, 5 thefts, 1 trespassing, 2 incidents of vandalism/criminal damage to property, 2 accidents with no injuries and 1 traffic tickets.
Millbrook had 1 burglary of a nonresidence.
Princeville township together had 1 disorderly conduct, 5 traffic tickets, 1 accident with an injury and 1 accident without an injury.
Radnor had 2 domestic battery incidents with 2 arrests, 1 possession of
stolen property with an arrest, 4 2 incidents of vandalism/criminal damage
to property and 1 accident without injury.
