• BRIMFIELD – An apparent fight at Brimfield Community Park resulted in no arrests.

The incident was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. May 24. Accusations included aggravated battery, aggravated assault and vehicular invasion, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report that was redacted almost entirely.

Among the redactions were the names of a suspect; a victim from Brimfield; a parent or guardian from Elmwood; a parent or guardian from Brimfield; and three witnesses, one from Brimfield, one from Princeville and one from Marquette Heights. All except the Brimfield witness were females.

The vehicle was a 2017 Ford. Brimfield firefighters responded. At least one person appeared to be transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

• PEORIA – An Elmwood man reported no injuries after he was involved in a two-vehicle wreck west of Peoria.

Shortly before 11:15 a.m. May 27, Terry L. Nichols was driving a westbound 2018 Audi A5 on Reservoir Boulevard when at Illinois Route 8 the vehicle collided with a stopped 2024 Ford Maverick pickup truck, per a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

The other driver was Lester M. Lovell of Peoria. He said he was waiting to turn right onto Route 8. Nichols said he did not see the pickup truck stopped at the intersection. Lovell also reported no injuries.

• BRIMFIELD – Mail was reported stolen from the Brimfield post office. The incident at the post office, 123 N. Galena Ave., was reported at 6:45 p.m. May 26. A Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report about the incident was almost entirely redacted.

Among the redactions were the name of the victim, a male from Brimfield, and the names of two suspects, a male from Brimfield and a female from Peoria.

• PRINCEVLLE – A Princeville man was accused of two counts of assault.

Christopher J. Bohanan, whose age was not available, was implicated regarding an incident that took place shortly before 6:45 p.m. May 26 at a residence in the 100 block of E. Douglas St., according to a heavily redacted Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report indicated two victims, a male and a female. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services was notified.

• HANNA CITY – A Hanna City man was accused of using a counterfeit $100 bill at a local business.
Edward A. Perry, 35, was arrested not long after the incident occurred, shortly after 12:30 p.m. May 26 at Casey’s, 13023 W. Farmington Rd. An employee there reported receiving the counterfeit money. The bill was marked “For Motion Picture Use,” according to a heavily redacted sheriff’s-office report.
Perry was charged with forgery and transported to the Peoria County Jail.

• ELMWOOD – An Elmwood man violated an order of protection, according to authorities.

The incident happened shortly after 7:45 p.m. May 24. It was reported from a residence in the 200 block of N. Holly St. The victim, an Elmwood woman, said the suspect sent her a text message, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.

A deputy confirmed the order was issued April 10. The suspect’s name was redacted from the report, although it listed him as being homeless. No arrest appeared to be made.

• PEORIA – An Edelstein man was accused of injuring a woman and abusing a dog.

Ronnie L.R. Bodtke, 42, was arrested shortly after 9:15 p.m. May 20 at a residence in the 1300 block of S. Easton Ave. in Peoria. The incident regarding the woman happened May 10. She sustained a swollen face and burns and scrapes on her legs and right elbow, according to a Peoria police report.

A representative of Peoria County Animal Protection Services provided photographs of the dog, a pit bull terrier that was thin and had an open, infected wound. Bodtke was charged with domestic battery, criminal damage to property and cruel treatment of animals and transported to the Peoria County Jail.

• PRINCEVLLE – A Princeville-area man reported someone stole $4 in quarters from a vehicle parked in front of his residence.

The incident happened sometime between 11 p.m. May 12 and 7 a.m. May 13 in the 10900 block of W. Legion Hall Rd., according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report. The victim said he locked the doors of the vehicle, a 2021 Chevrolet Trax.

No damage to the doors or windows was evident. A deputy suggested the victim purchase a security camera.

• HANNA CITY – A Bartonville woman and her son required a hospital visit following a single-vehicle crash south of Hanna City.

Shortly after 6:15 a.m. May 18, Makayla S. Schmick was driving a northbound 2017 Dodge van that failed to negotiate a curve in the 5000 block of S. Martin Weber Rd., left the pavement and landed in a west-side ditch. Schmick said she believed she fainted, according to a Peoria County Sheriff’s Office report.
The boy complained of neck pain and had dried blood around his mouth. His age was not noted in the report. Two other passengers, both males, appeared uninjured. Schmick and the injured passenger were transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. The vehicle was towed.

• YATES CITY – At 8:45 p.m. May 8, Jeffrey F. Embry, 55, of Maquon was driving a westbound 2021 Chevrolet Equinox sport-utility vehicle in the 2100 block of Knox Road 550 North near Yates City when the vehicle struck a deer, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office report. An ambulance transported Embry to OSF Saint Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, based on his medical history. His passenger, a 52-year-old Maquon woman, also was transported to St. Mary, for unspecified reasons. The SUV sustained disabling front-end damage and was towed.

• TRIVOLI – Damon T. Keller, 50, of Trivoli was arrested at 10 a.m. May 29 in connection with a 2024 charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

• BRIMFIELD – Braden D. Wagner, 29, of Brimfield was arrested at 9 a.m. May 28 regarding a 2024 accusation of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

• BRIMFIELD – Dale J. Coulter, 32, of Brimfield was arrested at 1 a.m. May 24 and accused of failure to appear in court, according to the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.

• GALESBURG – These were among calls to which the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded between May 31-June 6: abandoned vehicle, Dahinda; stray dog, Dahinda; suspicious person, Dahinda; order violation, Yates City; custody dispute, Yates City.
